Reds thrash pompey!!!

Liverpool bounced back with a 4-1 thrashing over Portsmouth. Two goals from Torres who continues his good form. Hope he keeps the same 11 in the boxing day game, or perhaps replace Kewell with Babbel. I expect us to win our other 3 xmas games and take 12 points to get back into the league!

Always a hard team to beat are Pompey so we did well and I hope the side stays the same aswell although I would keep sicknote (Kewell) on from start.

yes the defending was a mess. torres goals were just a matter of keeping composure.

I thought the score flattered to deceive. A good win by the reds but nothing special.

i was going to post on this before about the score flattering liverpool

and no offence with this post because livepool was great and what a signing torres looks to be (i was hoping for a shevchenko moment lmfao rofl)

but really pompey was decent not enough cutting edge or i dont think the score would of been the same

and as for 3 of the liverpool goals they was very bad defensive mistakes but on the other hand they was also made with pressure from liverpool so that is a fair argument and you make your luck

just for me the game i saw pompey was very unlucky to lose with 4 against them ... 2-1 would of been a fairer scoreline!

stone wall penalty on gallas, but hey we aint utd so we cant expect to get them lol.

good game and i think pompey came for the point they was set out really well.

adebayer was either offside or passing to pompey lol, i think they was lacking allot and everton in our next game i will guarantee if they don't pull there heads out of there ass we wont be winning that one with evertons track record of late

but credit where its due well done pompey and don't worry the liverpool score flattered them big time lol

Thought it was a even game and fair result for both

allthough one of your players (think it was rosicky) thought he was a goalkeeper with his diving handball near the end, but the ref didnt see it

honestly the arsenal that started the season never turned up for that game and its always the same now we play against ten men in defence for almost 90 minutes.

one of my pals yesterday said something that has stuck in my mind

why do teams want a set way of playing arsenal?

they dont go out of there way to defend against utd and liverpool or chelski.

every game i watch for other top 4 teams the other teams try and beat them and that ends up undoing them lol, but as soon as arsenal come to play a team its never try and beat us its always defend first nick a point and if possible get a lucky on the break goal!

alex furguson must be licking his lips that his team has never had anyone try and think up a way to stop utd lol.

it must be the worst feeling in the world when a team outplays yours and arsenal when we outplay teams we take the piss i guess making them look very average so i also understand why teams really try to stop us playing lol.


FFS bolton this season decided to do an arsenal on man utd and it worked so why dont the others ???

Thought either Rosicky or Kanu should have got man of the match, notice it always goes to home team if its a draw, but they gave it to Campbell. He didn't play bad but Kanu held the ball up well and made opportunities and Rosicky was Arsenals playmaker who always wanted the ball and likewise made opportunities.

How about this for a theory?

Arsenal have got a set way of playing themselves and their opponents are scared of being ripped apart and humiliated by it. I've played on teams that have been outclassed (only partly my fault!) and it's so demoralising. You've got to go in with a plan and stick to it together as a team.

TBH I think teams do that against Utd too, but it's been the case for so long no-one talks about it any more. Liverpool try to control possession and tempo these days, like a European team, but they and Chelsea look vulnerable enough at the moment so that teams feel they can attack them without the counter-attack being the sucker-punch.
