Any what the least amount of broadband meg would be required for running these on the internet line as i use mine on 30 meg got a mate wondering whether 4 meg would be sufficient.

its not so much as speed but quality of the line. spiderbox & others are very much reliant on the broadband being time critical, so a mobile broadband dongle in a 3g router will not be as good as a connected land line running the same speed.

I have used my Spiderbox 9000 combo (also a X403P) using a 3 net broadband dongle fitted in a Edimax 3G router (also tried a Netgear 3G router as well) without problems, I've also removed the broadband sim card and used my 3 net mobile's sim card in the dongle again it works well.
The only slight drawback with this method is if you do get a glitch when viewing the recovery time is a little longer than using a standard router but it's not such a big difference in recovery time.

When dealing with such small amount of data such as that used in CS, then the most important factor is not the size of the broadband, but as previously stated, the quality or the SPEED (ping / response time) of the connection.

Whilst the connection is provided "as-is" by your service providor and you cannot do anything to improve it, it's down to how they configure and run their network. A number of local things however, can affect the ping, the main one is using a wireless connection. Always try to use a wired connection if at all possible, but that's not to say that wireless won't work fine... run a speedtest and see what the PING time comes back as and that will give you a good idea of the suitability of the connection.

Hi my Internet is crap...half a megabyte...on a good day and use the the Spiderbox with cs..do get the odd glitch and " scrambled channel " banner....on another site they were talking about response time and how to speed it up with your receiver....not sure if they meant router or receiver....moving shortly to a new place and can get V*rgin media with great BB....will this help?? or hinder??

faster net speed will help and vermin as prob the best about
