Gift Is Up

My gift is up next month.
Does anyone know what I'll be left with or if theres a subscription service or a renewal payment for the gift?

do you talk about nuevoextreme??
cause you still have service+ and on that theres no timelimit,
most channels has been moved to service+ anyway.

There is no time limit yet.

But once the renewal procedure has been arranged, then the service+ will start to count down. Date for this has not yet been announced.

It is true most of the channels have moved to service+, but not all of them. And if you are interested in one of those channels that have not (yet) moved then of course you lose that channel when your original (nuevo) gift runs out.

Wow take it easy, now it would seem you have had your receiver for about 11 months and enjoyed it so we have two options.

1, Darkman has said that he will make an announcement on his plans shortly so we can wait for that.

2, There are other ways to extend your viewing and these are very simple to implement on the Spiderbox, this would be my preferred option.

If you are considering option 2 but need help with how to do it then PM me as I will always help members with this subject which can be difficult on an open forum.

if you look at the choice of channels youve had, and compare it to the cost of the receiver, and how much some scamming CS servers charge for a C line, you could say that youve had all those channels, for ~ £15 a month, and ended up with a free FTA HD receiver at the end of it

the spiderbox has also dropped in price, so if youre thinking of buying a CS subscription, personally, id buy another spiderbox, along with the years worth of channels, and put the old receiver in the bedroom or sommat

I'm in no doubt what so ever that if I had to buy another reciever after 12 months I would do so without question.

Its great value for money!

I would echo this post, I certainly would buy another.
Mostly I use my 9000 combo but my 5000SD IS STILL running using Service+ 14 months after I installed it, value for money? their tops!!

What do you mean ? I am taking it easy. Did I post anything that is not correct ?

I own a Spiderbox 9000HD and have been very happy with it and it has been well worth the money. Would I recomend it to others ? Yes without a doubt. Would I consider buying a new one ? Yes possibly (or a similar stb like Protek/Nanoxx...). It has been great value for the price.

I bought it with the gift for 12 months and don't expect more. Of course you always hope for more (who doesn't).

But I think it is not correct if people post that the Service+ has no time limit, while it is known it will not last forever, and they are working on a means of extending it (possibly for a charge).

Also there is still a difference between the nuevo gift and the service+. They have been moving channels for months but not all of them have migrated. I think people should also know this.

As for announcements that are coming. People have been waiting for months for news on this subject. For people that already own a Spider this is not a problem as the Service+ has just kept going for them. However people who are considering buying one now may be mislead into thinking that the current gift will last for free forever.

And of course once the gift stops you can still go the CS way with it, but I think most people buying a spider don't really want/can/dare/... go that way. In my opinion that is the reason they want the gift in the first place.

Ok the "gift package" initially started out in NuveoXstream and has run well but it was never claimed that it would remain in NuevoXstream for the 12 months.
We still have the "gift package" albeit in Service+ and mine has been running in my 5000 for 14 months, 2 months more than it was sold with.
Now lets be fair here what would members prefer 12 months then cut off or an extended period of viewing using Service+.
We might have lost a few channels during the changeover but we have gained more than we lost and we have a bonus of the extra time which still continues.
Ask some of the members who love say football would they rather their box died after 12 months or continued?
I think you would get a few short answers, you have my sympathy if you have lost your favourite channels but in honesty we have gained far more through the change than we have lost.

My 12 months haven't ended yet so no probs for me.
And if they find a way to extend the gift (in whatever form) that would be great. Who wouldn't find this good (football fan or not) ?

But it is misleading to say (like the second poster posted) that the gift now has no time limit.

Some (like you) have been lucky to get extra months. And believe me I am truely happy for you.

But as there will be announcement 'soon' on how the gift will be handled after 12 months many people (me being one) will probably 'only' get the 12 months worth. And I am fine with this, as that is what I have paid for. But if people read that the gift now has no time limit while it probably will be limited or only extendable at a charge they will most probably feel cheated.

Anyway, nobody can really give any guarantee on how long it will eventually last (not even the 12 months) not even he who is in charge of the Spiderboxes because of the nature of the 'gift'.

We can only hope for the best.

As a newbie with a Spiderbox I'm interested in option 2, but can't PM you due to lack of posts.

but as Darkman promised there will be a solution and no one is gonna be without service+ until that day a solution for renewal is here.
and atleast my history tells me that Darkman stick by his promises.
if you get more then 12 months,,,then see that as a bonus cause i shure am.

I have looked into the pay c/s side of things,(although its not really nec with gift working well) & its tempting .just because its there to be able to do ! It seems so easy to set up, but im sure a lot of people are very worried about the potential consequences if the worst happens to the server. It seems to me that you have to give a lot of your info that you could be traced back to. I dont know if its possible to protect yourself at all, or whether the servers are just closed but the server runners not users are pursued. Not much info seems to be around (or i dont know where to look) & although very tempted I dare not risk it.

I fully understand your doubts so let me try to put your mind at rest.
There are numerous satellite receivers using option 2 not just the Spiderbox.
Many of the other receivers cost 3~4 times the price of a Spiderbox (even the top of the range 9000 combo), this form of viewing is used by thousand's of owners the world round and I'm sure they would not invest over £300 if they had any real concerns about the system.
Now, yes of course it's possible for a server to be shut off and from time to time it does happen but to be honest I don't lose any sleep over this.
If you use a pay server which gets shut down then you will lose the remaining period on your sub but, many accept monthly or quarterly payment so that's all you would lose.
The great advantage of the Spiderbox is the "gift package" which is a well balanced package and is stated to be available for a year (please lets not get diverted into a "what if thread" I'm saying what I believe to be true I don't want to open a can of worms here).

Another option open for a group of "friends" is to club together, purchase a sub and keep it between thenselves. Very secure and safe :Clap:

thank you for bringing some sense and honesty to MY question. As I've been away from the SAT side of the forums for a while and was putting the latest patch on I happened to notice time would soon be up and wondered what happen next.
I didn't know I was opening a can of worms, I was also surprised that after a year you still cant mention spiderbox without the DM fans jumping in with their protective praise. Does the controvesy never end?

I've had my box for a year, no complaints and I hardly use the gift or the other services, I sometimes watch a bit of NHL hockey on ESPN and a bit of porn every now and then to make sure it still works. That's about it.
And I would probably buy another box Just for the reason of having the availability if I should ever want to use it, or watch something.
My only problem is a dislike of the source his/their attitude apalls me and I have never recovered from the angry threatening behaviour that went on nearly a year ago that I read on here recently.
And if you look at the state of my thread you wonder if the battle is over.
It was just a simple question which Digi answered perfectly, why can't you all be like that.
I was hoping that in the year of the spidey someone else would come up with an alternative, unfortunately not; so I'll take Digi's advice and maybe get another.
Don't get me wrong the box and package are a great value, it's just the people you have to deal with to get one.

There are alternatives. Protek 9700HD, Protek 9600, Unixbox 500, GGG Box and probably others.

I am sorry but I simply don't understand, many owners of the Spiderbox have had their receivers for over a year myself included, and the gift is still working it has not ended.
All that has happened is it has changed from being NuevoXstream to Service+. All you need to do is install the latest patch and continue as before there is at this time no cut off date.

There is really no need for you to buy another receiver your original one is still working and the latest patch will allow it to continue to work until we know just what is planned for it's future.

I am sorry if you had a bad experience in the past but that was nothing to do with me I have tried answer your posts with honesty and tried to help you, "attitude" not on my part mate!
