Skybox F3 skybox f3, 12month subscription run out. what now?

hi people.
i was wondering if you can advise me,
basically i was sold a skybox f3 and had it suplyed and installed a year ago and now the sky channels have gone, and i had a txt off the installer asking did i want to renew for £90.
my question is can i download the channel list myself and get it up and running without involving him?

hi, im in same boat , been trying for months to learn how to do it myself, keep hitting brick wall, anyone pm me with link or the likes to do it myself? would be grateful. thanks

Hi, You can do it yourself, but is gonna be more expensive then sign a contract with sly uk.
That person who ask you money, he pay for that things you watch, but he share it with much more people, so he make is profit.

No my friend, is not so simple.
You pay him for a server coneection, he owns a server, and you ''rent'' one connection from him.
You can change suplier, but first ask for a test, no point pay for something that works bad.

ahhh thanks for clearing that up for me, i had no idea it worked like that, so what dose it mean when people are downloading a channel list off these sites to put onto the box, i always see 'ajs channel list dec 2013' for example?

a channel list is just that it doesnt give you magical viewing of premium channels

Channel lists are a diferent thing.
Lists are just to keep channels organized, you dont need a list to watch the channels, but they will be everywhere.... sports 1 can be channel 300 and sports 2 566...

ahh ok and here is me thinking thats all i needed to do, so is there any free servers out there?

how do you do it yersel?

I have only just joined this forum having never been tech minded. Five months ago I bought two Skyboxes f5s to replace my dependence on the major satellite supplier. Both boxes arrived and where plug and play, each with what was called an 18month gift. I was well pleased. We the wife and I could watch whatever we wanted and it was not costing us an arm and a leg. Although I could not access the menu or sub menus on either box . I did e mail the supplier thro the amazon marketplace but did not have any reply. Seeing as this seemed trivial as programmes where no problem and then after five months the supplier pulled the plug and has disappeared from the marketplace and cut off mine and I reckon all others who bought from them. What I would like to know is can the boxes be returned to normal and if so will it be costly or is there anyone out there can reprogramme them I don't feel qualified enough to do it myself.

yes you can upgrade it yourself try aj channel list , has the others have said thou wont fix your package tho just fix the channels if they loose freq
