Yes, all of the channels on Virgin are available on Sky (although BT Sports is a separate subscription) but what was the point of saying that?

seriously their is a life beyond sky or any other bloated crap

Not bothered will pay my yearly sub for 2 boxes in january its cheap anyway now
I dont watch tv but my son will miss the usual kids channels if they go but unlikely

3 days for what? Only thing that is going to happen, and $ky website confirmed it, is that those users with Thompson HD boxes are getting newer HD boxes as Thompson HD boxes will no longer be supported by $ky come 31/12/16.

There are still other SD boxes around so there will be no immediate end on this day but it could be the start of sky supplying SD box owners with HD boxes instead.

I know someone that kept asking for new HD box during negotiating new (cheaper) sub after their contract ended each year. Until few months ago, Sky always refused to provide a HD box but this changed and now he has an HD box!

Just as I mentioned in post #14

There is no killer button to turn C/S off.
For people that use C/S they are seeing the beginning of the end. As I say there is time left.
(maybe another year) who knows?

Cant complain here when it does go down after I bought my first box.
A "skybox F3" all them years ago.
Lets hope there's others out there working on things.
But as far as I know there's no way round it when all SD boxes are replaced.

There is other options out there anyway.

They are after SD Thomson boxes

only thing going from thomsonHD box is ondemand service channels remain

River you are one of the top guys on this forum for helping people and i have great respect for you and the mods as they know their stuff even though they dont talk about C/S,Even one of the biggest suppliers of boxes in the uk uses C/S and on his own forum its not allowed

I really do think this thread has served its purpose.
Some might of picked things up with (ref C/S)

especially members that go onto slys website and see thomson HD boxes discontinued and thinking it's all over for C/S.
Then in other posts I read that vermin is going down too. LOL.

A thread titled "rumour" speaks volume.

But no-one has said that c/s will stop on the 1st January 2017, the OP never even said it. Arguments for or against it are pointless because no-one knows "F all".
It's hardly even c/s nowadays, more of a business for greedy bastards.
As for "Sky will have to replace all SD boxes to stop C/S", when you weigh the cost of replacing them against the millions they're losing in possible subscriptions then it seems feasible enough. They could do it in stages, they have the money.
