I can't complain with my zgemma.
Ive the older model "zgemma 2s". Had it way over a year and never gives problems.
Its a twin tuner so record one channel while watching another.
I have a 320GB external HDD.
All in now you can get a zgemma 2s for £60 and HDD for £24.
I have tried the zgemma h.2s (newer model)
they are about £10 more expensive. There meant to faster but I didn't notice it that much.

On zgemma you can set up sly skin with crossEPG.
Great box at great price.

Below is how ive mine setup on 2s.....

VU solo2 is a good solid twin tuner receiver and can get from world of satellite with choice of up to date firmware pre flashed

yes memory key is USB stick.
Zgemma released the h.2s after the 2s. The reason was to make it faster. It is a bit quicker but not what I was expecting.
I use openVIX as it works great for me. (But no support)
OpenATV do support zgemma. I tried it for awhile but don't like when your daily bouquets starts it flicks over to radio channel although only for a couple of mins. It will affect recordings.
Openvix does not do that.
IP*V is poor on zgemma and in a nut shell (useless)
unless you take a paid IP*V sub and run it in bouquets.

Great boxes @john! Nice price.

As @Dangsmuldoon said VU solo2 is meant to be much better. That's probably reflected in the price.

In the TSmedia most links don't work and take a long time to find something that does work.

how long does channel change take...and epg take to load

what is it that you feel runs slow on the box ?

thanks again

ps
do u get all HD channels ?

On my 2s EPG download takes around 5/6 mins. I set it to download at 5:45am while box is on standby. As you can not turn channel over while it's downloading.
Ive my bouquets set to download at 5:30am and take only a couple of mins.

It can run a bit slow when your scrolling through channels.

HD is gone a long time ago on 28.2e
Yes HD on FTA.

so would there be any point now ?
thanx

Depending what budget you have but i would seriously look at the vu or xtrend et 8500 as they are a much better box than the zgemmas and will run iptv no problem,I use the ET 8500 with an iptv sub and you can have upto 4 tuners and a built in hard drive for around £230

Been told no issue with C/S finishing for awhile yet.
From many parties.

Yes its it's going to happen. There's time yet.
When I bought my box..... then F5 slybox I thought how long.
(after the HD/3D going)
Many years have passed since and still going.

If caution is a factor go for sat/cable tuner.
But live vermin media feed is needed for vermin.
You will get HD with cable zgemma.

Ive vermin broadband but not worrying about sly dropping for awhile @john!

yes @lescantle much better boxes.
I've no issues running an IP*V sub in my zgemma. But TSmedia is a joke. I'm actually gonna remove it.
But what many people don't realise is "some" suppliers DONT allow twin tuners never mind four tuners.
Don't know why anyone would want four tuners as there's fook all on to record 3 things in one go as its rubbish programs.

zgemma h5 is out now thats a good box

the h2h is a combo sat and cable - seen spec of the h5 which looks same as the h2h
i think the h5 is faster and these two types again sat and combo not tested one yet soon will test one

Hi guys,
I've noticed this thread. My question is really about openbox V9S. I can not find any information which software it is running. E.g. on ebay.co.uk it gives opportunity to choose Android or Linux to narrow options and in both cases it brings openbox V9S. Thus, is it really Android or Linux box.
