Hi again...looking for a good box ???

Hi guys,
I've noticed this thread. My question is really about openbox V9S. I can not find any information which software it is running. E.g. on ebay.co.uk it gives opportunity to choose Android or Linux to narrow options and in both cases it brings openbox V9S. Thus, is it really Android or Linux box.

its runs its own software so not Android or Linux its a cheap box can pick one up for 35 quid - if money is not an issue get the ZGemma one

V9S ARE SAT AND IPTV YOU CAN :Wave:RUN ON THEM

If moneys not an issue then get a edision mini,Built in wifi and 2 year warranty with official openvix support so allows online updates,Only £20 more than zgemma

V9s are upgrade from v8s

Thanks for all previous answers. Three more questions:
1. Which CPU is used in Openbox V9S? In many places is mentioned "CPU 667MHz" but nothing more.
2. Is it possible to replace original software of the Openbox V9S by Linux/Android? If yes please give download links.
3. Linux-based firmware is successfully replacing original firmware in some network routers (e.g. WRT54G firmware) but only in those where is sufficient memory. How much memory is needed to run Linux/Android in the satellite receiver box? Openbox V9S has Flash 8Mbytes (64Mbits) and S-Dram DDR III 256Mbytes (2Mbits).

Simple answer to your questions

1) The chipset (cpu) is very slow like all openboxes
2) Any open box is limited to vary few firmware updates and is not linux/android supported unlike enigma 2 boxes like zgemma/xtrend/vu/mutant,The V8 golden was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread with the promise of a sky like skin and full iptv media player,You cant even update a channel list of any kind on them so you have to do a full scan and create your own favourite list which can take hours,The iptv side is pure crap as the processor is to slow for streaming
3) Most enigma 2 boxes have at least 500 MB built in ram to allow storage of a 7 day epg guide

So in simple terms just buy a better box for an extra £20 (zgemma s) £55 ish and openbox (£35/40) ish and enjoy a lot more for your money,Nearly every seller of openboxes on the bay is selling clones so be careful when updating firmware

i run a gigablue Hd ultra ue with sat tuner and hybrid cable, internal hd.
changing channels is very quick on sat or cable.
i have used skybox f5s in past and it was a little bit slow when changing channels.
glad i spent a bit more to get higher spec box

Both the same boxes,They are advertising the zgemma S2

You will need to look at cable or iptv to get HD channels,I use the xtrend ET 8500 which is both satellite and cable,It will also run iptv

Miraclebox Ultra or Twin they are good as well. But everything depend on your pocket.

I have had a gigablue hd ue that was setup for cable and satellite
HD channel via cable only.
I am now using a technomate 4k twin setup in the same way.
Both are able to record via internal hdd.
Both have been very good.
They are roughly around £200 each.
