Hi all,

I need to pick someone brains please…. I have a Blade BM 5000S, fibre broadband and I 1.8 metre satellite dish in my back garden. Could I pick up any TV from 28.2E? So I get BBC1,BBC2,ITV,CH4,CH5 plus a few more? What are my best options?

Thanks,

I believe only just if you are very north Spain as the footprint changed and does not cover Spain or Portugal well anymore..if it's full time use I suggest IPTV package on a mag 254 or similar which will give you the full UK channel list..and I mean full..
I've it's just part time maybe kodi would do you.

Thanks AJT

It needs to be a simple setup and usage as I rent my place out. I don't want to be taking any calls from my customers saying I can't get this to work!!!!

I will look into the MAG 254.

Depends where you are in Spain.
our dish should be fine for the UK beam channels anywhere in the east / south east - from say south of Tarragona all the way down to north east Almeria, and inland through to Madrid.
In fact in the Valencia Costa Blanca area you can get the UK beam channel on a 100x110cm dish.
Areas like the COsta del Sol, the signals are very weak and a 3 or 4 or 5m dish is required - which is when other alternate options are required.

27w for basic bbc itvhd channels

the froot print from 28.2 has changed... but u should still get basic stuff on this setting.

The best option would be a 1m dish pointing at 28.2e and an 80cm pointing at 27.5w with a diseqc combining the two to a technomate 5402 or f3/5. This is what the majority of expats have here in southern Spain, depends were you are located.
The set up is very easy to use once installed.

Try using some app for your phone to be sure you "see" the satellite :)
I get Hotbird, it's something

I know that this is an oldish thread but thought some of you might like to know that I have 27.5w running on a TM Nano SE M2 plus (linux) receiver using openvix image, full 7 day epg as well as subtitles, early days of testing but looks good at the moment.

Interesting-is that using cross-EPG from 28.2E?

I am not sure, I will find out for you. I have been given this box to play with by a local satellite installation company to give feedback on, I know that it has taken him several months to get it to work at all.

So far the positives are:
No sound sync issues - a la 5402 HD M2
No glitching on recording playback - faultless
Full 7 day EPG
Subtitles - although if you switch them off you have to reboot the box to get them back
Facility to add additional tuners - plug and play

I will post more when I have had a proper play!
