Spent the weekend at my Mums has having to watch a Sky HD Box lose picture several times during the day. I know there is an issue with an overgrowing tree which can not be cut as its has orders on it. The signal can only be acquired again by switching the mains off and waiting 10 minutes for it to reboot. We will have to get a bigger dish at some point, I just wondered if anyone has a better way of rebooting a sky box quicker than 10 minutes ? This is also the second sky box to show signal issues. Even my zgemma h1 on same lnb broke up but not as bad as the sky box.

I am resided to doing this and getting a bigger dish as the protected trees are in the direction needed to point the dish. In short term before i can get it moved i would like to be able to do a soft reboot.

There are 5 or 6 in a line and there just the perfect height to obsecure the dish. I'll try the skew next time i'm round their. I've also been given another extension pole, i'll probably get someone round to put a bigger dish on and make it higher, its getting a bit high for my comfort zone.

simply making the dish higher is only a temporary solution. the trees WILL grow higher. Is it possible to move the dish to the opposite side of the house, and have it on a pole, as youre planning, but also looking over the roof, this gets you further back away from the trees, meaning they will have to grow a lot higher before becoming an issue again

I'll look at moving the dish to the front of the house to the garage which may just be to the side of the first tree.
