As of this morning the above frequency on Eutelsat 28A is showing no signal here in southern Spain, both horizontal and vertical.

Does anybody know what has changed?

Just noticed 11344 v and h has gone as well.

No, 2G is not operational yet, they have moved to the UK Spot beam of 2F according to reports.

I have been reading that 28A is failing badly, all it's TX's were to be transferred to 2G, due to the delay in the launch of 2G this should have already happened, therefore they are being moved to 2F, however, maybe this is just temporary until 2G goes into operation on the 15th June, so we could see some more changes and southern Europe may see the return of certain channels, it does not make sense for any of Sky's channels to be on the spot beam.

sorry mate typpo error meant 2f

Info from William-1
Eutelsat 28A transfer of transponders to Astra satellite @ 28.2 east
C3 & C4 have moved to 2F on 1st of June
Next transfer of will be on the 19th June C1 & C2 Transponders to Astra 2G
Next transfer will be on the 29th June the C5 & C6 Transponders to Astra 2E
The following E28A transponders will be shared between Astra 2E,2F & 2G
11585 H 22000 5/6
11604 V 29500 3/4
11662 H 27500 2/3
11681 V 27500 2/3
Eutelsat 28A will then move to a new location by the middle of July
Eventually all transponders will revert to the Astra transponder plan in use @ 19.2 east.

I posted the more detailed List due to having a list of transponders that people could check instead of just C3,C4,C5 etc... this way saves a search and members in affected areas can check those transponders:proud:

Basically, the purpose of the UK spot beam is to prevent the freesat channels from being received outside of the UK, as Sky is encrypted and registered to a UK address, there is no need for this, also it is estimated that around 10% of sky's subscription comes from expats in Europe, so it is not in their interest to restrict it. Currently virtually all of sky's channels are transmitted from the European beam.

BT sports sd already testing on 11344 so get ready.
There is no need whatsover for sky/bt to broadcast on anything other than uk beam.
Will be a matter of time.
As for 10% expats accounting for their subs, could be possible but highly unlikey as they are all card sharing lol

Thanks for replies guys bit of a bummer bout BT sports mind

BT Sports will remain on the European beam, the testing on the uk spot beam is for their new freesat channel called BT Sports Showcase which will allow up to 26 matches to be shown free of charge for everyone.
