Sky lnb fault

Hi people im using sky as free view on my sky boxs but ive got lnb fault single bar is up and down all the time is not the boxs as works fine on my mums dish I was just thinking if sky would come out and change lnb for free im out of my 12 months or is there any other way to get them out to do this any help on this would be so kind I dont really fancy signing up for another 12 months just to change lnb

get a local fitter to do it mate as sky will charge £60 call out and then parts
or buy a cheap lmb from ebay and do it yourself

look for a Sky engineer working in your area, offer him a few beer tokens and i'm sure he'd swap lnb and realign dish for you.

if you were Manchester/Trafford area i'd do it.

Is there any reason why you don't want to try it?

Provided you do not move the dish the lnb swap out is very easy.

Thanks for offer mate but I live in southwest

Something I've never done before so more and likely make more of an issue then I've all ready got

best think to do is flash a £20 note and a few beers to a fitter when you see then around

Provided it is not too high, why not try it when it warms up a bit? If you can't then at least you tried. Think of the sense of achievement. If you cannot, then you will still have to pay someone.

The dish should have been tightened up properly, so it should not have moved. Simplest way to check is to put the sky box onto the signal test page, lightly press one edge of the dish at a time and see if the signal quality improves. If it does then it is an alignment issue. Slacken the screws until you've got the best quality and then tighten. If not, then it is an lnb issue. £5.99 on an auction site including the legacy adapter (170431897175). Unscrew cable, cut the retaining plastic, push it in, slide lnb out, replace lnb, screw cable in and enjoy.

Mate please believe what these guys are saying i am totaly rubbish at these things but manage to put my own dish up and change a lnb have a go. sky charge £65 for a call out. and it really is a 5min job dats with getting the ladder out.
