Getting a business duo in a few days. My plan eventually is to have a fixed sky dish and a motorised setup. Going to do the motorised dish in a couple of months, and thinking about putting the sky dish up just now.

My question is, what channels will I get with the sky dish, will I pick up the fta channels. I'm waiting on my pal setting up a share, so I won't have this ready for a while. So what will I be able to pick up just now, until I get it setup properly. Or is it just not worth the bother just now. Can't afford to get the full set up just now, going to get a few bits at a time.

That's vu duo, not business duo. Bloody predictive text

all you will get mate from a fixed dish is fta, without a c line to decrypt the channels for you, worth putting the dish up though then its done isnt it and to make sure the vu is all working correctly!

Thats what I was thinking, get it up and make sure its working ok. Happy with fta channels, till I get it setup properly. Just didn't want to put it up and get nothing.

Cheers for answering my question

What is the best image for me to use. And, is it only an image I need, or do I need to add anything else?

dont have 1 myself mate but heard the vix images are best, everyone on here seems to be using them, only other thing you will need if your just keeping it fta for now, is a channel list, like rats from the technomate section, great bouquet!

Cheers. Seems pretty straight forward to me

got the dish. seemed pretty straight forward.

my problem is, im trying to ftp rats bouquet files to the vu+ duo, but i cant get an ip address on the box. so i cant send the files over.

my current setup is, that im trying to do a direct network cable transfer from laptop to the box, without going through a router. i dont have it connected to the internet at all. running windows 7 64bit on laptop

Connect it to router it will be easier as it will automatically assign ip. Then use dreambox edit to send files over.

problem is i dont have a router, as i dont have any internet access just now. not getting it installed until the 6th april. could i use a network switch, will that work just to get an ip assigned?
