Hi

Anyone know why there is the ethernet connection on the back of my sky hd + box?

What does it give me if i was to connect a ethernet lead from my router to the ethernet port on my sky hd box or is it for another purpose?

New to sky so am learning and if asked a newbie question, appologies.

Ignore what FTA101 is saying he's yanking your chain. The ethernet connection as well as everything else apart from the RF, Scart and HDMI outputs are all disabled. They won't work because of the software that is in the box.

Regards

Liam

its probably there for a better for interactive content in the future.

at the moment sweet FA just like the Sky+ box USB port for sweet FA use, am sure in the future Sky may implement something on said box using Ethernet .. would be ideal if you could hook the box up to internet and surf websites or do stuff like iplayer.

IMO sky should use it for callbcks rather than the phoneline, it would surely make the interactive when you need to go online quicker aswell?

actually, saying that people would get round the multiroom 'problem' that way wouldnt they?
