Sensible Topic on line busiiness

yes it is . there are minimal overheads and huge market . domain and hosting can be had for about £50 per year and that's a good host
plenty of online shop packages out there. most of these will need database and tweaking
the one downfall on online sales is the return process has changed and you need to pay return postage

all you have to lose is some time and a little beer money

Sorry to butt in but do you have any more info / links regarding this Turner please.

I suggest Facebook page the power in that page can be amazing but you have to keep updating daily we have 2 businesses and both promoted on facebook to great effect you can reach out to 10000s minimal effort and cost

I second this. My friend has a car detailing company and was struggling. We started advertising on the car groups, etc on facebook and his business grew well. I think its more about targeting the right people.

mrs cb has a small gift business we post a lot of things but she was wanting to try increase grow . do you think the using the internet platform is worth while to a very small concern

How did you get on with this? FWIW I use a site called Webs.com. You 'build' your site using their free, easy to use site builder (no programming experience necessary), they also have a 'shop' facility (which I don't use) and it looks OK. If you are happy with it, for a small fee they remove third party adverts.
