Sensible Topic Euro is tumbling against the pound!

Bloody hell 71p to the euro.

Is it a good time to get your holiday money ready, or will it drop even more.

We have a holiday deposit to pay in the next 4 weeks, I feel like I am playing the euro lottery lol.

I bought 1000 euros a couple of months back rate was 1.36 back then same place now doing 1.37 so its held its strength (pound) cant see it going down any time soon but you never no. I remember not to long ago getting 1.11 so its a big difference

I got 1.39 in march.

The Euro is weak against pretty much all currencies at the moment and sterling is benefiting from that. Though the Dollar is very strong and Sterling has taken a hit over the last 4 to 5 months.
The election result was good for sterling and a recovery against the dollar has taken place over the last 3 weeks (market factored some expectation that the Tories would get the most seats though not a majority).

Euro should remain in the same area for the short term with not much movement on the BoE interest rates and overall the Euro zone not showing much growth (0.4%) in qtr 1

Mick the exchange rate for us right now against the Euro is as high as its been for the last five years so it's an excellent time to buy euros.. It may well go up between now & yer holiday but you'll still have got a historically fantastic rate.
(personallly I think it's got a wee bit more to go but it's obviously a gamble)

We almost bought a villa about 4-5 years ago and it was 1.10, We waited as we was in the recession. Kind of glad we did either the end of the year or next we might try again to get a bargain property in the sun.
