Hi guys,

So quite a few company's make it difficult to contact them (especially support), and those that do provide a number usually try to make some type of profit out of it by using premium numbers like 0870 etc.

Some of you may know this already, but for those that don't, there is a fantastic website I use that will provide a list of free numbers. Not sure if I can provide links here so just google say no to 0870 very handy and thought I'd share :)

GRRRRRRRRRRRR
Dont get me started, i recently sacked our online car insurer solely for that reason and went back to a local town center insurer so i could have some human contact (cos its lonely in this box). :hubbahubba:

The end of 0845 and 0870 is upon us as part of a major shake-up of customer service phone lines. From June 2014 it will be illegal to use 0845, 0870 and other non-geographical numbers for lines that deal with customer complaints, enquiries, renewals and cancellations.
The rules regarding 0800 numbers are also changing in 2015. From June 2015 freephone numbers such as 0800 and 0808 will become free for people calling from a mobile.
The changes to 0845 and other non-geographical numbers, which are part of the Consumer Rights Directive, were implemented into UK law in December 2013 and will come into force in June 2014.
Some businesses are already organising the switch to a geographical number and updating their literature, but for those of you still unsure about what you need to do ahead of the June deadline, here’s a reminder:

Seen this and thought there might be a good few Irish people on the forum so if people want to check out SayNoTo1890 might be helpful to them.

For the ones I posted Ireland.

For the ones at the beginning of this thread its the UK. I'm sure there is one for every country.

The WeQ4U app does something else which is extremely handy. Not only does it call the national rate for the same prices as a local, but when if you get stuck in a queue, you just press a button and it hangs up. It will then ring you back when someone answers! Saving you even more money or minutes from your plan. Very handy.
