HI guys
Ive just renewed our insurance on the cars with direct line multicar, be very very careful....
I got the insurance documents though, everything correct except it was less my wifes car.
Rang them up, and they said they had no knowledge of her, even though the quote was in the same ball park figure for both cars on other insurance companies, in fact the cost of the policy i had already paid for was just for one car (over double the cost compared any other company).
They went on to explain that they DONT do multi car policies, they only do multi car discounts (wtf its more expensive than any other company).
They took both car details and both drivers, even on the policy it stated multi car discount.
I personally feel they Mislead me to their policy.
Ive kicked off at them as it could have meant that my wife would have been driving around with no insurance if i hadn't been so vigilant with the insurance, i know of a few people that never even check certs etc when they renew.
At no point during the application did direct line say the quote was for a single car, the spreadsheet was done in such a way it made me (a seasoned motorist) think that it was for both.
Because of their poor web site design skills, or blatant attempt to mislead new customers i will never entertain a quote or offer of insurance from this company.
Ive now got a full refund and have gone over to admiral who seem to be able to do the job correctly.
Just be very careful guys, if it could happen to me it could happen to anyone - BTW this isnt a rant just a heads up for you guys.....
