pc getting slow , would really appreciate your recommdations please

Thanks for pointing us to Glary @spud1966 . I've been using Ccleaner for years but Glary seems to dig a bit deeper. I have a few older, reasonably spec'ed laptops that are getting a bit slow, it will be interesting to see how they respond.

    Online safety Bill

Is the UK government really that blinkered and out of touch with reality that it thinks this will have the desired effect? The corridors of power are lined with nonces, I think it is highly unlikely they'll push anything that will curb their own 'pleasures'.

    Oldies Rule.

I never use my landline (who does these days?) I don't even know the number, so any calls that come in I know are marketing or more likely scam calls. Answering "Herllo, Bingal Tiger, can I take your order please?" or "Gandu helpline, what can I do for you today?" usually results in a rapid...

    Vaccine for 12-15 year olds

Just to set the record straight here, I am NOT antivax, quite the contrary. I believe that 'traditional' vaccines have played a major role in eradicating some nasty diseases in the past and will likely continue to do so. I am not keen on this one (understatement) for the numerous reasons I have...

    Vaccine for 12-15 year olds

I do check info I find on websites and judge for myself whether or not I find them credible. I was satisfied that the site I saw which reported 2 deaths/million in 12~15 yo from vaccine complications (quoting figures from VAERS IIRC) was legit but I can't remember where I saw it. When I find it...

    Vaccine for 12-15 year olds

I am referring to children (<16 yo), as this is what the thread is about. The UK government's own JCVI has already said the benefits do not outweigh the risks. (And this is before any long term data are available). Boris/Javid have chosen to ignore this and press ahead anyway, no doubt they...

Routers Sky hub - Can I ugrade it?

Thank you for the 'find', no reason I can see that this won't work for ADSL too, interesting app too! I've not bought the modem yet, it's only £20 so probably worth a punt.

And there are at least as many dying from the effects of the experimental jabs. So why take the chance?

Routers Sky hub - Can I ugrade it?

I use Sky for phone & broadband, no fibre here (yet) so using the "Sky Hub" modem/router they provided. It's shite! 2 ethernet ports, no guest network etc. etc. though to be fair the wifi coverage isn't too bad. Someone local is advertising an Asus modem/router but I don't know the sign-in...

Perhaps, but not kids, which is what this thread is about.

    Vaccine for 12-15 year olds

Under normal circumstances I would agree with you but the propaganda machine has been busy and people have allowed themselves to be programmed by their TV's for last 18 months and, like Boris, will be blind to the truth.

    Energy supplier

I'm always wary of companies that advertise a lot, it's expensive and the money's got to come from somewhere. I got a good deal earlier this year from a company called Orbit but it's running out soon and going to normal variable. So I have been looking about, and EON seemed to offer good prices...

World News Sir Clive Sinclair: Computing pioneer dies aged 81

What a sad loss. I still have my first Sinclair Cambridge calculator but my old ZX81 (+ rampack) & Spectrum have long gone. He was years ahead of his time. Just imagine if he brought out the washing machine-based C5 in this era of memes, it would bring a whole new meaning to "taking it for a...
