Any chance he changed the time he normally downloads at? I know im with Tiscalli and use newgroups myself and if you try download between 4-10pm (roughly) they throttle your speed to something like your describing.

Which route you going up m8? If it's the tourist route, no problem. One hell of a challenge is going up over Carn Mor Dearg and onto ben nevis that way. Hell of a challenge but well worth it though, fantastic day.

I know a 2 guys that run there van's on just veg oil, no conversion or filtering (unless it's used). One uses an '02 TDI engine and it runs perfectly, just open the bottle and pour it straight in. Get some funny looks pouring 25 litres of veg oil into a van outside costco though pmsl.

Yes, you can install an operating system to an external hard drive, If you go into the bios there should be an option to boot from a usb device first which will save you time not waiting for the machine to check for an internal drive then cd etc.
