Open atv is no quicker or slower than vix. The boxes are slow not the image or firmware. The processors in the older zgemma boxes are ok for satellite but if your looking to run iptv on them get another device.

I have set up a mates ZGemma H5 with Open ATV and Jedi Maker for IPTV, all working I can download the EPG data using EPG Import but not showing the EPG data when in the EPG screen I can see the epg,.dat file in /etc/enigma2 (its 22 Mb)

9 times out of ten that will be because the box needs two connections to your supplier to record. Android boxes like the Formuler boxes get away with one connection though but Zgemma sat boxes seem to fail a lot.I have heard flashing OpenATV 6.4 and using Extreme editor plugin can resolve this
