thought this guide may help someone on here....will be posting some tom tom stuff i have into the downloads soon....

I have included a step by step guide below for installing onto your SD card. Dont forget you need at least a 256mb memory card and a gps receiver, I use a 32 channel one bought from ebay.

Here we go.

1 Open the folder (TomTom 521 UK v605 map SD version)

2 Sync up with your device using Active sync and press explore from the sync window.

3 Click on the the My windows based icon device icon and then on the storage card folder.

4 Select all of the folders and files from the (TomTom 521 UK v605 map SD version) folder and copy them directly to your storage card folder on the device. This may take upto 10 minutes.

5 When done eject your memorycard and re insert tom tom should self install from this point.

If tom tom did not self install dont panic go into the file explorer program on your device and go through to your storage card and click on the folder (2577) You will see 4 cab files

1 gps
2 PIMaddin
3 ttn
4 wzd

just click on these one by one and you will be asked if you wish to install the cabs file just press yes and follow the on screen instructions. You will notice that once you've install a cab file it dissapears from your folder until your left with 2 files called autorun.

Tom tom should now be running.

Setup a bluetooth connection with your gps device checkmark the serial port box select new outgoing port and then the gps device and then select com 7. Exit.

Go into the tom tom change preferences menu and scroll through to the show gps status click on this and then on configure select your bluetooth gps device and if other gps device select the com port that you have assigned the device to when setting your bluetooth connection.

This will take you back to the show gps screen you should see the yellow circle spinning and then within 30 seconds the grid should light up with all the satellites found in your area.

Exit back to the home screen and your location should now be found set the menus have fun.
