Hi

I've been given a Typhoon Myguide 7000 XL with Tomtom 6 installed.

Obviously Maps are out of date.

I'm a complete noob to the sat nav scene.

I've seen various downloads for updating it.

Is it better/simpler to just update maps or install newer version of Tomtom.

If its better to replace tomtom do I uninstall the old version first or just install over the top?

Thanks

Well I took the plunge

Just installed tomtom 7 and it installed over the top of the existing.

Changed maps, booted up and it told me not enough memory damn damn damn

Tried again and it started fine - but no voices damn damn damn

Copied voices from original SD card

Noticed it had no POI or speed cameras so downloaded them and copied to map folder on sd card

then found that post codes were only 3 digit damn damn damn

downloaded postcodes and guessed they would go in with maps - no joy there

a bit more reading and moved the postcodes to a new folder called zip and its working like a dream

woohoo : multi :
