U on a standard or hacked navcore ?

hi Messa iv got a tt1 3rd edition under 3yrs old still original, can i add new maps to it as is or do i need to change firmware

You will be OK pal.

Your 'Navcore' is the software that runs the maps (like Windows on your PC) and then there are the maps.

Navcores are written for specific TTs or groups of eg for the 900 series (eg 900,910,930 or whatever).

It is possible to get navcores that are written for one device but hacked to allow installation on another, for example I have a One XL that has voice guidance and lane guidance now, but it shouldn't have.

The maps are only compatible with certain navcores, but in practice it is usually possible to find a cracked navcore/map combination that gives you everything you need.

Also, does your TT have a memory slot or inbuilt memory, and what size memory ?

had a quick look at that link mate but will have a proper look tonight, my unit has no memory slot the built in memory is 512mb, im only looking at using uk & roi maps
im a bit of a novice but in the past iv managed to updated speed cams, postcodes, voices and car icons with help from tuts and google,
