Hi all
I am looking for an up to date channel list for 28 east on a Technomate 6900 super,
I cannot lock onto Setanta, Setanta Ireland, Bt Sports 1&2 or bbc hd's.
I had exactly the same problem with a Ferguson Ariva that I was hooking to up the net for a mate of mine, but when I loaded a channel list everything worked fine, I was hoping it might be the same with a Technomate 6900 channel list,
I can see the channels and hear them but they keep glitching and freezing strange because it works perfect on all other channels even on the net, I played with the dish but it didn't seem to make any difference. the signal and strength jump from 70% up to 95% so it should work
As always any help greatly appreciated
Regards
D

Thanks Bobby123
I have never used a channel list on a Technomate I assume I delete loads of channels from it first then load with a usb key

Rather than deleting your old channel list (which you can save prior to deleting just in case) why not try just adding the channel manually? Assuming it's like the 5402 (which I think it is) there's the option to "Add Channels" where you enter the frequency, polarity, VPID & APID manually (you will get these details on kingofsat, lyngsat etc.). It's not as difficult as it sounds, I've had to do it dozens of times for 27.5W as those channels didn't scan in at all.

Hi again
Bobby 123 I cant figure out how to use that channel list I cant get it to auto load everytime I load a file manually it adds more and I dont know whether I am to load channel or keys or both, it will take hours to do it manually so I must be missing something

ok
I tried Rats list as well I am obviously doing something wrong because when I tried that list it was the same story as Bobby123's list,
I am downloading the zip file extracting the files and loading them onto a usb then putting the usb in my Technomate 6900 super I either go through the menu or press the usb button either way its the same result loads of individual files
same applies when I download the Rar file
does the 6900 open zip and rar files is that where I'm going wrong by extracting the files from the zip and rar folders first

In case you're not sorted yet ..

No the 6900 Super doesn't extract from zip files itself. Extract the CNDF file from the zip in your computer and copy it to USB stick.

With the CNDF file on the USB stick you can overwrite your current channel list with the new one. You can't selectively add channels.

To do this:

Insert the stick into the box.
- Go to the main menu then USB then Data Transfer.
- If you didn't already have a USB drive connected (e.g. for PVR) you'll see the CNDF file
- If you did already have a USB drive connected you'll need to use the down/up arrows to highlight then OK to select the USB stick - probably USB1. Then you'll see the CNDF file you've copied.
- As Treverton mentioned it's a good idea to save (upload) your current channels. Press the red button. (It'll create another CNDF file on the stick.)
- Then use the down/up arrow buttons to highlight the file you copied from the zip.
- Then press OK.
- On "Select DB to Save" highlight Normal DB and press OK

That's about it. If you need to, you can go back to your previous channel list by selecting the file you uploaded and loading that in the same way.

Hope this helps.

Cheers martico - still cant see why our colleague Darkloadsbane doesn't simply add the channels he wants by going into Advanced Search, Add TP and then enter the frequency details from, say, Lyngsat - and off he goes - surely just like the rest of us?
That way you keep all the channels you've 'personally' accumulated on your 'own' Channel List?
I personally am always rescanning to keep up to date - and simply backup my latest Channel List daily to USB memory stick, just in case of system probs etc - or even during the adding of new firmware when it happens!
Not EVERYONE want the channels listed on someone else's Channel List surely, helpful though they can be?

Hi Holmroad
The reason I haven't done that is because I tried loads of times and I cannot get a lock on the channels I want. I believe my dish is not alighed properly so will need to play with it, but I might change it as I have never been overjoyed with it,
while it's a grand size it all bolts together and is a bit flimsy on the brackets and lnb arm so when your adjusting it jumps all over the place, any recommendations for a solid dish and arm up to 1.2m
also do I need a bigger motor to drive a 1.2 dish

Ok mate, cheers, I hadn't appreciated that - or rather failed to read your earlier post properly (as usual!! lol!!)
Still feel you should see 'Mk 1' in your System Details though?

Going right back to the beginning of the thread before we got into channel lists and stuff .. you mentioned "freezing and glitching".

I had the same symptoms a while back. It turned out to be a problem on the power supply board inside the box, solved by replacing all the electrolytic capacitors on the PSU board that had a slightly domed top - I think about four of them.

The 6900 Super runs fairly hot, more so in my case because of where it is. This doesn't help those poor little caps survive more than a few years without literally blowing their top!

In the unlikely event your 6900 Super is still under warranty you might be reluctant to open it up. But otherwise, or in any case, why not take a look? The PSU board is the smaller one on the left hand side.

Could save you a trip up the ladders ...

Hope this helps -m
