Hi Guys
is it possible to connect a Technomate 6900 super to the internet using a wireless connection, I have it connected using a cat 5 cable.
I also have a pc connected with wireless, it had no wireless card so had to buy an external usb aerial thing I can't remember what they are called it gets a great signal from the router.
Anyway if anyone know how to do it could you please explain
Any help greatly appreciated
Regards
D

I wanted to try it in my dads house about 40 metres from the router in my house he doesnt have internet so as it's 2 different power supplies I don't think the plugs will work
Sorry I should have said all that in my 1st post

Thanks for the replies and link
I think I will see if my usb wireless adapter ( I just looked at the back of it to find out what it's called) gets a connection on my laptop first then I will try his Technomate 6900 super (same as mine)
what I would like to know is, if it gets a good signal will the 6900 super work on the wireless net once I put on the add on and patch it I will obviously need a server but I will just get a test line from the 1 I use,
do I need to do something in the menu to give it an IP address or something I know what to do once it's talking to the router

This product is the right one: Vonets VAP11G WiFi Bridge Dongle - Wireless Networks Access Point: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories The one I gave you before will create a hub

My setup has the dhcp set to yes on the hub which means the hub assigns network addresses to what ever device that comes on the network,so long as that device has dhcp enabled. So in the menu(System settings/IP Settings) on the 6900 you set the receiver for dhcp and leave the addresses alone. If all is working well you will see the addresses assigned by the router in this menu page.Cheers

Forgot to say...you usb wifi dongle should work on your laptop but you need software to support it so for this reason it will not work on the 6900 ie you can't load the dongle software onto the 6900.Cheers

Interesting, DOngle wifi router and RJ45 connector so technomate can connect via ethernet cable plugged in that dongle. Downside it needs external power (500ma) it seems ?
USB is only for configuring the device it seems. IF this could be powered BY TM receiver this would be great

My one powers quite happily from the TM's USB socket.
