Hi PhantOm,

I have just applied the latest Phantompatch (118) and as far as I can see there is nothing at all different with the 'Blind Search' feature... it is exactly the same as before... there are no new settings for 'S/R Search'... and now it's even worse because the 'Signal Strength/Signal Quality meter only shows readings for active TP's...

Therefore...if you are on a TP that has no signal lock... the 'Signal Quality' reading now only shows the amount of 'Signal Quality' as between 5% - 9% ...whereas before on all previous 'Official TM 5402 HD Software' and all of your Patches... you could actually see how close to a signal lock you were by how high the 'Signal Quality' reading went on any TP... the way the 'Signal Quality' shows now is just useless...

I have put patch 117 back on... I'm very disappointed mate... sorry

Best Wishes,
Zorch

yeah its the same problem here. also when your changing channels from one Channel to an other you lose the signal off 2 second and it gets back to normal this dose it on free to wear and scrambled channels

I have been waiting with great anticipation for the new patch, especially after giving Phantom feedback on what 5402 owners would like updated so I am totally baffled if feedback from members above is correct!
What's the naffin point of bringing out new patches if they don't work properly, doesn't Phantom test them before issuing them!
Changing channels and losing signal has become a pain in the rear, it can't surely be that difficult to correct.
I am not bothered about "speed up connecting YOUTUBE web page" and I am pretty sure most members aren't either. Updates on cccam etc.... is what we want.
As I said previously I love my Technomate but I think support is falling behind with equivalent boxes out there.

Hi again PhantOm,

Well... I don't know what patch 118 has done to my TM 5402 HD ...but I have just gone
through all the procedure to put patch 117 back on... and now I find that it's impossible to overwrite patch 118

No matter what I do... patch 118 is still there in System Information... what's going on mate... does this mean that we are now barred from putting earlier software back onto the receiver...?

I just patched 118 then went back to 117 without a problem, I followed the factory reset, patch, factory reset method. Just one odd thing after patching with 118 (also now with 117) when I do a factory reset instead of the various reset options all I get now is a choice of "single" or "multi" resets.

Even odder just rechecked and all options are now back in place, must have been ME at fault.

Hi PhantOm et al,

I finally got patch 117 to overwrite patch 118 on the third attempt... god knows what happened the first two times... I always use this procedure...

Factory Reset
Load Original TM Software
Factory Reset
Load Phantompatch
Factory Reset
Load ADDON_002p
Factory Reset
Load .cndf file to Normal DB
Load .cndf file to Default DB
Load TMSoftcam keyfile
Re-set all System Settings
Re-set Main Audio Level

Anyway... it's all sorted now... I was just about to post saying all was back to normal when my PC crashed... I feel a bit foolish now... and my thanks to jimihendrix for his PM

Best Wishes,
Zorch

I think a lot of members WILL be disappointed who go down the line with patches / soft cams (keys) to find that they are unable to view C +NL.
THANK YOU for all your time and effort to get this right for ALL MEMBERS.

Reading all your posts/ my suggestions.
After finishing a patch I always test each patch fully starting with factory reset and fresh scanning
I think you are using old/or default channel list.
Please upload your channel list let me test it.
When changing channel in >> H << signal will not reduce at all but from H to V will reduce about 5% will recover immediately
Signal should not disappear and return unless in very low symbol rate below 2000.

Hi PhantOm, are you suggesting that after patching we should do a fresh scan? This would be a bit of a chore if motorized say with 12 satellites scanned and the channels list arranged the way a member likes it.
A second point is can we have a function that when a key is pressed it shows if it's the softcam or a line opening a channel (showing which line if more than one installed) ? I have this feature on my Spiderbox 9000 combo and find it useful.
Thanks and keep up the good work.

For the avoidance of doubt - 118p on. Rescanned C+NL on 19.2. Does not clear.

Hi again PhantOm,

2. modified C+NL card issue

Does this only refer to the reading/updating of 'Official' C+NL cards in the TM 5402 HD...?

3. added frequency step in blind search menu

The frequency step feature was already in the 'Blind Search' menu...
What was asked for was an additional S/R (Symbol Rate) search feature...

4. modified ndf file

What does this mean...?
What has been modified...?

I thought TM5402 HD used compressed .ndf files = .cndf files

@PhantOm
Could you explain (the above quotes) any further...?

I honestly think that although I'm sure being maybe well intentioned, our colleague Phantom simply is NOT listening to us all!
I know its not really in this thread, but the principle is still there, that Patch 737P has SOMETHING in it which enables C Ned 19E to open with softcam - without the need for a rescan - but which ISN'T in patches 738P to 743P, so the same MUST apply to latest TM5402HD patch 118P?
He DID ask for our comments - and he's getting 'constructive criticism here surely?
We really DO appreciate all your efforts mate, but its STILL not doing it for us - despite all oursuggestions!:Cool2:

Lets remember that the engineers have to recode these things.
These changes are not performed by a single person on here, they are done by engineers/coders.

Yes totally agree mate - but its Phantom who's opted to take on board our comments/suggestions and as I say if Patch 737P opens C Ned for us then what happened to the patch/file/firmware between that and patch 738P?
Maybe the file content became corrupted somehow but file verification wasnt carried out properly at that point? So it OUGHT to be possible to delete THAT corrupted portion and insert the CORRECT portion?
Maybe I'm being too simplistic, but I'm honestly only trying to help Phantom & Technomate to correct this long time glaring error?
Lets remember that its NOT the computers which make errors, but we humans who programme them!:Hit:

A Blind Scan Symbol Rate search feature similar to the TM1500CI Super+ that splits up the symbol rates that the receiver searches for this enables the receiver to find all active transponder symbol rates the current TM5402 stepped blind scan cannot achieve this & misses 25% of active low symbol rate transponders even using the lowest steps,

Example of what is required to make the blind scan on the TM5402HD more productive:

Symbol Rate Selection:Full Symbol Rate Scan
---------------------------:detailed Scan
---------------------------:Under 3,700
---------------------------:Under 7,500

This type of scan on the TM1500CI+Super finds all active SD transmission all we are asking for is a HD blind scan that can do this job as efficiently as the previous generation of satellite receivers by TM were capable of.
