Hi first post, greetings from Ireland.

Have been admiring these new patches that pull the EIT data from 28.2 for non linux boxes some using the USB as a flash dump.

Perhaps digidude seems to be the guy I should be directing this or indeed Phant0m himself.

I briefly understand how this has been implemented on the user side through the identity of the data transponder for EIT being known via the Myth exploit.

Anyone wanna tell me the nuts and bolt of this. I am interested in implementing this on a few different combo boxes for experimental purposes (not monetary). Presumably whoever wrote the firmware patches has access to the source code for the TMs ? I am interested initially interested in attempting to implement this on the German equiv of the TM 6900s in the CTech 5000c's.

Cheers

I wonder if TM would share this info as it makes the Technomate Box outstands the other brands.... with this EPG mode which I find very very nice.
So the CT5000 is a clone of the TM6900 ? or Vice versa ? Interesting stuff

Yeah Hubtech make both (also OEM for other rebrands - eg MaxDigital HD-PVR 225 Combo and DHT 7100 ST). Both the Ctech and the TM were released around the same time 2007/8. The Clarke Tech are just a different box design aimed at German/European market. The bootloader have manufacturer hardware ID pointers that they expect so have to change that when recompiling I would imagine if you went down that road of trying to run TM software on Ctech boxes or you will brick it. I am not really interested in that but more the implementation. The functionality on the remotes is onlly slightly different despite identical appearence. I am guessing the basic software writen platform are initially from the same source in SK.

I actually had both boxes (gave the TM6900 to the Dad). I can patch update that receiver of course with Phantoms patch. But the key to every box is support of course. Whilst I have been over on main underground Ctech site, its all german (even google translate looses sense!) and they have different priorities as regards 19.2 vs 28.2. Technomate representation in the UK does get things done with a focus on 28.2.

With the unfortunate way that now/next data is only provided on FTA boxes this patch on a non linx box is very clever. I know the Fortec guys tried something similar with the Sat only Passions in the past. So I guess there are people who have access to the source code for the TMs. I was curious to know how it was technically added in the patch. I am guessing that some of the underground community are probably software developers with TM/Ctech. Which is excellent to know that 3 years later someone has had the balls to release it. EPG support is the biggest downfall on non linuxl FTA boxes (Mr Murdoch loves this of course!).

Over here in Ireland we use MPEG4 H264 on DVB-T for SD and HD stations (with 7 day EPG via EIT) which these HD combo boxes support through the use of the common H264 level processor chip so they are perfect for Irish and UK fta combined channels. 7 day EPG on the Sat side would make these boxes remarkable for Irish use, HD and all.

Anyone willing to help ? I can take it to PM. Can someone bring digidudes attention to this post incase he doesnt see it (I dont think I have the PM facility yet ??) Thanks
