All the patches seem to have stopped for these is all the support in future going to be for the SUPER AND 7100

as so many providors have switched to new encryption methods, very little is open with softcams at the moment, so no new patches for this is needed, the available softcams still work on these receivers

unless the very clever people who break encryptions come up with something new, then i doubt a new patch will become available. this is the same with things like CAMs, most programmable cards (i think the only one still working is the gamma card)

most equipment has now 'evolved' to be network based, to allow access to official cards via servers by using an on board ethernet connection

your receiver can still access these servers, but in a slightly different way. instead of connecting to your router via ethernet, you will need to connect to your PC via null modem lead, then your PC to your router

on your PC install share software such as SSSP or WSP and configure it with server details

the latest patches for the 'super' series of boxes follows nearly 9 months of work to get the emulators running, as it looks like the future of 'pirate' tv will be network based using emulators, the addon packs for the new patches are the emulators such as cccam and newcamd

I also have a TM 6900 (not super) & from reading between the lines it seems that once 1w has gone very little will be available. I really have no idea about linux boxes, so when I noticed talk about a linux "type" box spiderbox seemingly without the hassle on a certain albanian site I became intrigued. I have done a search on here & noted your barbed comments about the "free gift" , but whats your opinion of the spec of the reciever in general as its price seems reasonable compared to others. It would seem that to continue the hobby its time to move on. Could you please give me some simple explanations as to what CCCam, Newcamd, Emu & home straming actually mean, i have tried to learn but am confused. I think its to do with c/s, but on a simple level how does that work. Do you have to register with a pay server or can you share (& how) with friends & is it wise for either to do with a the well known british package. I appreciate that this (i think) can be done with a non super tm6900 but only through a null modem cable which will cause problems as my pc is far away. I can however go down the ethernet route by using homeplugs, hence my interest in the spiderbox.
I hope I havnt broke any rules with this post, but once 1w goes Im sure you will have many similar enquires.

Thanks.

Did not know about these. They probably would work, but I think I would need 2 (from pc to homeplug & from homeplug to sat rec) & for that price its cheaper to buy a new reciever as they are around £80 -100 each according to google.
This is assuming I havnt got the wrong end of the stick about how they work !

the only way is a dreambox
i dont know any about linux, and i cant learning because i havent time.
