Hi

have hit glitch loaded the softcam/latest keys and me box has gone blank, I get 4 lines as I power it on, then nothing. have tried using a maleUsb - male Usb lead to reload software from the TM website but my laptop doesnt recognize the box this way and cant get it to do anything by the usb stick, is the only option a null modem cable? also my RS232 on the laptop has a 15 pin not 9 pin as shown on fleabag sites pics.

any help appreciated

Have done it direct from USB memory stick

Done the loader, patch and softcam that way before no prob

Thanks manic

use usb slot.
Try a forced download
1) Download latest patch for your model
2) unzip/unrar patch
3) Open Darkman loader 187
4) locate the file you have just downloaded
5) click connect
6) switch your reciever off at the back
7) switch it back on again
8) loading will start automaticaly

This may have to be done a few times till it actually loads but it will definately load and then all will be ok again.

thanks for your help manic but I cant do that at moment, my laptop a IBM thinkpad R40e has no RS232 port it is a VGA 15 pin I found out and for some reason Usb to Usb doesnt work.

There is a 25 pin paralel printer socket on bck of laptop does any one know if this will send data from the tm loader software to the 5300 or have I now got an expensive doorstop here in Sunny Ireland

thanks

Warren

thanks again manic

I dont have a RS2332 9 pin port on my laptop

That's what the USB-RS232 adapter is for. It's USB one end and RS232 at the other, thus allowing the connection of a null modem cable. You should be able to get one at your local PC store

I'm a thick :feck:

Sorry manic never even thought about using the lead other way round,

have to go out now for Mrs's birthday meal so will look into it when I et back and post what happens

Re: 5300 super usb ** HELP**

Now Im worried !

have connected the usb to my rickety old laptop and rs end to the TM5300 super. Have used both Tm Loader and Darkman Loader and get same message on both.

When I turn on the STB and click on connect it says "no available com port" and if I click browse it says "turn on reciever and connect it".

I cannot access the Stb whatsoever

If it broke and now a doorstop so be it but help would be appreciated

Hi Warren.

Are you using a null modem cable to connect the adapter to your stb? If not you will need to get one. Also check the com port setting in device manager for the usb adapter, it needs to be com1 or com2 for the loader to communicate with the stb.

right here we go again

tried to asign cable to com port and its not recognised, this is due to the fact that it came without the driver disk. Have done a google on the device name given in device manager and drew a blank

It is usb\VID_067B&PID_2303\5&1719D762&0&1 driver Im looking for, usb- serial cable (null modem cable)

anyone have a copy they could send me or point me in the right direction to download would be very very grateful

Thanks

Warren
