Hi all,
I have a TechnomateHD6900 Super, which I am very pleased with:Clap:

There is however, one problem, not directly related to this particular STB. I have a collection of movies stored on an external hard drive in, I think, AVI format that I wish to play back through my Technomate which only accepts TRP format:thumbdown:

I have spent hours "googling for a converter from AVI to TRP and searched various forums including this one, all without success. There are literally hundreds of programs to convert TRP to any other format you can think of, and some you can't, but none it seems will do TRP to AVI.

I am surprised that there is no easy solution to this as I am sure almost all of us will want to do this at some point.

Can any of the "Experts" help on this one?

Thanks in anticipation.

I had a similar problem but the other way round.
I wanted to play .trp recordings on the media centre.
I did this in the end by re-naming the .trp file as a .ts file like a dvd.
Maybe if you converted the .avi to a .ts, I wonder if you could then re-name the .ts to a .trp??
I haven't tried this, just a thought m8.

Thanks for quick reply.
I had seen a post similar to your suggestion, but had not considerered trying the reverse.

I'll give it ago as you suggest and report back.

Code:

See this for some help.

From what I have read, it only works successfully with MPEG2, and not with HD data files, which is why I haven't bothered testing it yet.

Yes. Thanks. That is the thread I was refering to in my reply. I have just been "googling" for a converter from AVI to TS, but it seems they are as rare as hen's teeth as well.

We seem to be stuck in a loop, but any other suggestions welcomed. In the mean time I'll keep trying.

Hey buddy,
You can easily perform this action using software called TRP Converter. This software efficiently and effortlessly does this work for you without lossing or degrading the quality of the sound and picture.
So, just try it, it is really a very good converter.

Thanks
TRP Converter.
