TM600 problems with USB memory stick

Sw release UR release 2.0.23 (13 aug09)

Put in random 1G USB stick I own. Went to file mode and box hangs.
Have to switch off/on box. Put memory stick in PC and delete all files except the video folder. (The memory stick is formatted to FAT)
Put memory stick in again and then press record and it records and plays back.
But then can’t figure out how to get back to normal sat viewing.
Rebooted box
Went to file mode and again it locked up !
So then rebooted and formatted the stick in the sat box.
Recorded, playback, etc. and then file mode crashed it again !
Puts memory stick in the PC and now the PC will not read it !

Any ideas why file mode hangs box ?

What is format required of the USB ?

not sure about all those problems but a coulpe of things, i don't think UR image has full support for FAT filesystem so that could be whats causing any issues while on FAT drives.

and after formating on the TM it will be in ext2 filesystem and windows can't read/write that on its own, if you want to be able to use an ext2 formatted drive on windows try this app

works fine for reading/writing on a 2GB drive i formated with UR image.

i also had some filelist freezing issues when i flashed that latest image across but forget to do factory reset first. did it properly again and it's been working fine so far. maybe try doing a factory reset and then flashing image again.

it's possible the UR image doesnt like that drive though, i couldn't get a Datatraveler drive working and somoene form the UR team posting saying its a known issue. not sure if it could be related to your problem
