Bailiffs

Why they are only doing their job. Most of the people these balifs visit problems are self inflicted

That's rubbish . Just seen the one the landlord wanted a the girl living in the house out so he could charge more rent . It had been her home for 12 years . Greed and the guy comes in all you need to go being aggressive . That's not a job for a right minded person .its a job for a bully and thug . Funny how they are brave when it's a wee girl they are threatening . Never had any dealings with these hopefully I never will I don't think I would be as much of a soft touch . Animals nothing less I hope everyone of them lose everything they own

I think you need to watch a bit more episodes to get a balanced view. They are only exercising a writ from high courts so your gripe should be with the high court

its not the bailiffs fault its down to the landlord and they are just doing there job. the tenant has a contract with the landlord that has a clause in it that allows him to give notice. the tenant refuses to leave, its there gob to get the tenant out.

i don't agree with the way it was done but it down to the land lord & the screwed up law..........

No I won't watch anymore of these . I understand what they are doing . What gets me is you would need to be a horrid type of person to even want to do this as a job . As for the court system that's a joke . They told her it will take weeks for you to be evicted . Same day another higher court just says no throw her out . We never had these people in belfast thank god and from what I'm reading scottish law is slightly different to . I couldn't sleep at night if I did that as a job .

Same could be said for a lot of jobs mate if you don't like it don't do it. If someone chooses to then that's up to them but someone has to do the job.

Tell me on other job like that . Where you need to be heartless . I understand companies yea . But not a persons home and the aggression . We will take this from your house disgusting . Sorry I know I sound like a broken recorded but I'd gladly do time for one of these scumbags

if the shoe was on the other foot i'm sure you would be glad of the help, the law differs from bailiffs to high court enforcement, it just a name change in Scotland ;-)

If you have been contacted by a High Court Enforcement Officer, it means that one of your creditors has been through court process to recover a debt. In Scotland, High Court Enforcement Officers are called Sheriff Officers or Messengers-at-Arms. They may also be known as Judicial Officers, and they all have power to take enforcement action against you.
You should not simply ignore contact from a Sheriff Officer or Messenger-at-Arms. You will need to come to an arrangement to pay the amount owing in full, dispute the debt, or negotiate an instalment plan. Otherwise, enforcement action will be taken against you to take control of goods to the value of the debt.

just finished reading this then other sites . Seems in scottish law they don't have as much powers though I could be wrong . Still have to feel for the poor people that have these people at their homes

Like I say watch more to see the balance. You see people who are owed a fortune by tennents that pay no rent and trash the property they are renting. You also see people being visited for owing money for all sorts of reasons and baliffs going someway to getting their rightfully owed money back. Most of these people have ignored ccj's etc and the high court writ is the last resort. Yes there is a few desperate stories and I do have sympathy for them but I would never wish to see anyone coming to harm for doing a job.

Not seen the episode myself however I am sure the current tennant will have been given the opportunity to continue to live in the property and pay the higher rental charges. As for greed, probably more likely mortgage payments, insurance, letting agents fees, local authority fees etc are causing the rises.

. 12 years she was in the house mate . The guy himself grey haired one said that it was a growing trend around London in an attempt to get the working class out of the city . Now that's on channel 5 so you can go I and watch it for yourself they will have it on catchup

I do think you need to be different from others to carry out bailiff work.
Yes someone has to do it.
(I wouldn't)

i give example of these kind of people.
They do look for that bit of power they can not get anywhere else.
I took a break from "welding" for a year and went into warehousing.
(A long time ago)
My manager was retired army man.
He thought he could treat people how he wanted. The workers got together and manager was given a nice amount of money to leave.
The next job he got issuing parking tickets.

This is the the kind of people bailiffs are.
They look for jobs with power and no respect for people below them.
As you say @IANB someone gotta do it.
But not a job I would enjoy.

Thank god we really don't have them here.
