not a bloody clue?
TV just over 12 months old.

Been back to LG, faulty, twice in the 12 months. Now faulty AGAIN with the same fault...

LG's reply?....... Sorry out of warranty!

Bloody disgrace.

I will never buy another LG product!

Wankers![emoji35]

LG aren't really at fault here mate. They repaired your set twice within 12 months and the present fault is outside the 12 month manufacturer guarantee. As far as LG is concerned they have fulfilled their obligation.
The retailer sold the set to you not LG. May still be possible to take it up with the retailer though. I don't know the ins and outs now that the Sale of goods act has been replaced by the Consumers Rights Act, but the retailers guarantee period though not widely publicised, was 24 months rather than 12 months. May be worth looking into.

I would agree with chookey here. The Consumer Rights act places the responsibility on the retailer, not the manufacturer. You shouldn't even have to worry about guarantees. Something that faulty is in the "not fit for purpose" category.

I'm pretty sure if it's the same fault they have to sort it and if it's sorted 3 times you can ask for a replacement . Contact citizen Advice mate because they will give you the in and out of it .
Same fault twice withing the 12 months mate. Not its playing up again just outside the warranty [emoji35]

Each time it went back, they had the TV for about four weeks each time. All they did was change the motherboard or that's what the report said!

It's obviously not the motherboard. I think it's the panel itself?

I've got a video somewhere, I'll try to upload it.

It's still in warranty m8
6 years in the UK and at least 2 years under EU law now.
So you've got 2 choices.
Back to the manufacturer as the repair was never completed (they never fixed the issue so it has an inherent fault that you reported to them within the 1st year which they have failed to resolve AND it has failed to last a reasonable length of time) - personally I would only accept a brand new unit from them tbh if that's what you want.
Or
Back to the retailer as you have a 2 year EU warranty and a 6 year UK warranty - I'd only accept full money back from the retailer at this point due to loss of confidence after the botched repairs (inherent fault as above) and time wasted already and if they give you any guff about not paying you the full amount you paid tell them you're not having it and you want paying for the time and inconvenience of it all too. Technically they can make a reasonable deduction for your use of the telly, when it actually worked but they've got their work cut out making me see their reasoning if they offered me any less than full price tbqh m8.

As Countryboy said, go to citizens advice, Each time it goes in for repair, the time they keep it is added on to the warranty period, threaten them with the small claims court.

The 'retailer' is a sticky bit. My brother in law works for sky. Now and then he gets these offers where by he can order things, via sky, at discount prices and pay monthly via his wages. That's how I got the TV.
We went via sky at first but they said it was an LG problem?

The LG warranty on parts is 12 months. It's not been 12 months since the last repair! It's was may, I think?

I received a partial refund (£310) from currys yesterday for a Sony Bravia Tv I bought 26 months ago for £549 which stopped working. Excercise your consumer rights and you will get some money back.

Quick update:

LG have arranged for a company called Equinox to come and have a look. Probably to change the motherboard again lol.

I've spoken to CAB / Consumer Direct and they advised to proceed with the repair and see how it goes!

I'll keep you informed [emoji4]

Well.... after a number of weeks wait for this Equinox to contact me, I seen my arse and phoned LG again!

After I had a long rant, the bloke on the phone was really apologetic, as were all the others lol. He said that someone would contact me within 48 hours. This phonecall was last Monday!

By Thursday I hadn't heard a peep! My intentions were to phone them again on Friday and have another rant! When I arrived home on Friday morning , the first thing I did was to check the mail.

To my surprise, a letter from LG!

'Dear Mr D. We are very sorry for the ongoing problems with your LG product. Unfortunately our technical team have advised us that your TV is non repairable. Please forward this letter to your retailer along with your proof of purchase for a full refund'

RESULT AT LAST!!!

So hopefully, within the next few weeks. I should receive a cheque for about £1100 to spend on a new TV. ... not fookin LG though!

They rely on people accepting what they say no questions asked. If your willing to fight a bit you usually can get a result . Well done mate . Ps I love my LG. TV it's a Philips TV with a badge on it had it 8 years not a problem though I moved it into the other room to make way for a updated one lol and guess what it's another LG . Lol

I've got another LG TV upstairs mate. I've had it for about 10 years without problem lol.

It's the poor LG customer services that's put me right off!

I know I've got a result in the end but it's taken about 15 months.
