Took the car to get its NCT Ireland's equivalent of an MOT last week and it failed on broken headlamp clips on 1 of the lights, ok I kinda expected a failure on the lights as the motor in 1 has failed blah blah, anyhow I've organised 2 used replacements for 80 euro woohoo I'm unemployed and that's a great price, anyhow the girlfriends step father arrived over this evening and wanted her to open the bonnet to look at the lights, I didn't feel like going out so said leave it etc but noooo couldn't let it go, so I goes inside puts on my shoes and go outside to listen to the tit tryin to tell me to put straps on the back of them instead of replacement ones, I said no it's a 2011 car and I'd rather fix it right, meanwhile the Mrs tried to open the bonnet (Ford Focus by the way, key in ford badge on front grill etc) and it won't unlock!! The guy in the test centre had it open cos I saw him, he obviously broke it, now I've got to find a way to pay for new lights and probably someone to fix bonnet lock, get it open etc within 30 days or pay a full fee for a retest (55 euro) I just paid 77 euro to have it tested last Tuesday, now I've 3 weeks left. On top of all that I'm in the ****in dog house with the Mrs cos of the way I spoke to her step dad.... Same guy is renting us our house, 2 months ago the electric hob blew up and he arrived over with a 2nd hand rusty 1 with 1 ring not working...
Rant over lol

I'm literally at my wits end with this car, I bought it last July as a cat D repaired vehicle, since then I've had to replace wrong type hub knuckle, both front shocks, drop links, brake pads, new wish bones, now I've the headlights to change and fix bonnet lock, heated front screen doesn't work, supposed to be auto dimming mirror with auto lights and wipers, not fitted... I damaged 1 alloy couldn't get a replacement so bought set of Peugeot with v new tires, the list is endless lol, at least when it's all done it'll be a decent motor. Oh ya needs a steering rack gaiter, might as well stick in a new tie rod and track rod end (both sides)

if this was my car i be trading it in

Not cheap enough considering all I've done with it, luckily I was able to do it all myself and after shopping around online the parts weren't overly expensive and to be honest we hit a kerb which buckled the alloy and knocked the steering out of alignment, that's why I replaced all the stuff, the steering wheel is still a little off centre and it pulls left quite a bit even though I got alignment done, only thing I haven't replaced is the track rod ends and inner tie rods, can't think what else could be the cause unless alignment was poorly done

Unfortunately I can't afford to m8, I must say tho it is a nice car 1.6 tdci very economical

common fault on the ford key bonnet opener to go, you have to break the grill to access the mech for the bonnet to open it. look on youtube there will be a video of how to do it, if you cut the grill in such a way to cable tie it back together in order to save money till you can afford a replacement,

Ya will have to do something like that, it'll be like a brand new car when I'm done with it, get it just right then flog it off n start again lol
