Mica Paris seemed surprised that women fear discrimination in the workplace if they are pregnant or on maternity leave! Why?

Since small business can't afford any of this malarkey as far as I can see the change in the law achieved one major thing. Doors close to women of child-bearing age, simple.

With me an Mrs M they never even made interview, standard 'thank you for your interest' letter.

I have been on the other end of this.
I used to work for Abbey National many moons ago. Every time I went for a promotion, so did a few pregnant women.
Every position went to the pregnant ones... Then because they were off on maternity leave I would get the position on secondment.

The women would take a year off, come back and take the job that they won only to announce a few weeks later that they were pregnant again!!

So the circle continued... I ended up moving to head office sticking two fingers up along the way. This was not a case of Abbey protecting themselves, it was a case of the women looking after the women..

The way I see it everyone should be treat the same. On the tube every morning some women believe they deserve an free seats over men. When you take it you get the 'not very gentleman like of you' look...
When it comes to lifting heavy items in the office or 'dirty jobs', the women palm them off onto the men..

I could rant about this for a long time as it does boil my piss. They wanted equal rights (and quite rightly so) but a lot of women choose when they do and when they think they deserve different treatment for been a woman.

I need a beer.

Equal rights!!!!! But only when it suits most females!!!!

We need more women like my wife, she believes that women should stay at home and look after the children and their husbands ! and that the time for "working" is before they have children and after the kids have finished their education.
I treat her like a lady, because to me she really is.
