Why,Who's asking?
When i have to phone a 0845 number @ my cost they keep u hanging around for ever, putting u on hols etc,but as soon as u call a 0800 @ cost to them ,your not on the phone 2 mins before your done, this should work both ways.

i do but some times u have no choice :(

Must agree here.

Example from experience; the number on for Halifax's banking customer servces is an 0845 number. Used 'sayno' to get a geographical number to phone from mobile. Ended up at a switchboard who wouldn't put me through to CS. Actually it was more of a "Sorry, you've come through to [office name] you need to call 0845 xx xx xx" [hangs up].

if you need a lot of these numbers. your best moving to BT. I only have to pay for 0844, all the other 08's are free! if you are on BT, give em a call. i found it well worth it.

I tried explaining this to someone a few weeks ago, if its an 0845 you are put on hold after keying in a 10 digit number to get to the correct dept and then you get an idiot that could not even turn over the page of a cheat sheet. The minute its an 0800 call it the correct person straight away and they have the issue sorted in no time flat.
