Im Gob Smacked

wife has just brought kids home from school (primary)

and said that my daughter had to take in some food for the xmas party

so I said ahh just get some sausage rolls and crisps ect as u do

she then tells me that no meat products were allowed to be taken in,not even meat flavoured crisps ????

why I ask

because of the religous belifes of some children :Angryfire

so what there saying is my child cant eat any meat because of other peoples beliefs

id write a letter to the school, and the govenors expressing my disgust at how your childs choice had been taken away due to the religous beliefs of others. if other beliefs dont celebrate xmas then whats the problem if we do??

whats next? banning all meats from schools?

id be furious if my kids schools told me that, get a petition together m8, see all the other parents to sign it, see just how many people would be offended by a sausage roll at a kids xmas party

feels like the tables have turned somewhat if u get my drift

if you ask me its religious discrimination against people who WANT to celebrate christmas

if a parent doesnt want their kid to celebrate xmas then dont send them to school on the day of the xmas party, its that simple, why should the rest of the school miss out because of a select few?

i bet the school has taken it upon itself to decide this 'just in case' if you get what i mean

but i think its disgusting that they should say that

the party is allowed to go ahead just no meat food allowed

so it looks like Ill give her a block of cheese to take and some ready salted crisps

can you imagine what would be said if the kids had been told no foreign food at all.

there would be an out cry.

Think the schools jumped the gun here, very much doubt any parent complained about meat being allowed at the xmas party,

more a case of the school trying to be "politically correct", nothing to do with religion

the wife did have a quite word with the teacher along with a few other parents

and the teachers said this is the first year its been done,and she was also discusted by it
but thats what the guveners had decided so thats what goes this year at least

I said to the wife though (wrong or right ?)
let all the kids play and dance together but when it comes to food time put the non meat eating children on a seperate table so they know no meat is given to them

seems logical to me ??

TBH I would also hit the roof m8 - But thinking that this is in some way something to do with others religious beliefs ie; the parents of ethnic children etc is way off of track.
It is the goverments fault! They are the ones who give these head teachers there directives.
They are the ones who by doing these silly things are going to cause racial hatred.

But I would bet that you would get the signatures of the ethnic childrens parents also showing there disgust.

then youd have the parents of the other kids screaming that their kids are being victimised and forced to sit seperate from the rest of the group

all of this political correctness is now pathetic, id write a stinking letter to the school governors demanding to know why they feel they can take the freedom of choice away from my children to cater for a minority group

what will they do next? if another religion chooses to fast will they stop school dinners in case it offends them by having food around?

Thats just stupid, is it a religious school?

Obviously they are trying to cater for muslims, they don't even celebtare xmas so whats with the special treatment. Thats totally wrong what the school are doing, write to the governers and the head teacher.

What I don't get is I bet it was fine last year no problems whats changed? And muslim kids know they can't eat meat so they wouldn't but if my kids where at the school I wouldnt want them going without thoes mini sausage rolls with beacon wraped wrong thats a xmas tradition for many people.

i am positive you will find out that is not a request from any ethnic group either, it will be some lefty liberal, tree hugging WHITE effing governor who doesn't want to upset anybody in their little world.

a similar thing in our town a traditional hog roast is had in november when the tin hat fair comes to town, evidently been going on for at least 150 years this year the council said no hog roast because it will offend some people....the local rag got involved and tried to find out who was offended nobody came forward so the predominantly white council backed down due to popular support.

Im not sure if I want to take it as far as the papers tbh although I amd very angry
Im not bothered that some kids can eat meat but I am bothered that they have taken my childs right not to eat any kind of meat
thats my issue

are chicken crisps got real meat in them ? I thought it was flavoured ?
