In july this year it is planned to do gigs around the world called planet earth to stop global warming,i would imagine something like the live 8 gig,

what really bugs me is they are going to do this and the amount of electricity is gonna be used and also the amount of rubbish that will be generated from these concerts all around the world and not to mention these pop stars having to fly to gigs to perform this, just nonsensical or is it just me????

if we want to save the planet how about doing less in actual fact, don't do these concerts as we will save loads of the mentioned above.

it's all a load of shite, it is just a way if increasing the publicity of individuals performing, not just the electric used all the equipment will have to be flown to the various locations - all that c02!

i am all for supporting some green issues but i do think sometimes that we in the uk and europe usa etc make an effort and then the other countries who have not signed the agreement keep on pumping out the co2 whats the point!

also the countries who have signed the agreement still keep sending space rockets into the sky and firing missiles and bombs off in wars that don't need to be fought again polluting the earth.

one last point, not so many years ago everyone burned coal, there was no green issues then, now you light a ciggy and your poluting the earth!

It does get a bit silly as far as the cause goes sometimes (As your points above, global warming and using all that electricity?) but I was fortunate enough to win tickets to Live 8 at Murrayfield and thought it was great. To see James Brown live was an experience I will never forget.

I am a musician and will support live music events always.

sad thing is that there are probably small band whos material is all about global issues who have never been reconised by the music industry, and no i don't mean flute playing tree huggers!

if musics your thing then enjoy the concert - after all the likes of me and you get no say in issues like this anyway!
