thought it would be a good idea to build a htpc.
bought a hiper chassis - looked good but sounded like a dyson.
solved this with water cooling.
it has been very rewarding and very infuriating.

ANyway - last night i installed vista only to find i couldnt run my 32wlt58 at its native 1368x768

so i selected 1360x768. The screen then faded away and now i have random colurs / bars.

Feck me - can it get any worse.

just phoned toshiba - they'll fix it under warranty - thank fook 4 that.
purchase date was 7/2/06.

That sucks! Kinda glad I went for the LE32R74 now afterall!

Oh, and Vista sucks for that. When I installed it, I discovered there was no support for 1440x900, either in Nvidia drivers or standard M$ ones.

Had a right ballache getting this TV replaced. Took 12 week in all. Freemans - what a bunch of tossers.

Heres a mail I sent

Hi,

Before you read this email, it may be worth checking my notes on your system.

I purchased a toshiba 32wlt58 lcd tv from freemans in Feb 06. In feb 07, the tv went faulty. Toshiba took tv for repair under warranty. around 6 weeks later I was informed by Northtec (toshibas approved repair shop) that my tv was unrepairable and was given and exchange reference Number to pass on to yourselves.
I informed freemans of this who arranged to collect the faulty tv from my house. The tv was collected on 13/04/07.

So now freemans have my money and my faulty TV and a TOSHIBA exchange reference Number.

I telephoned on the 16th,17th,18th,19th. to try and find out what was happening. "what appears to be the hold up MR spark?" is one of the questions I was asked. On the 20th I finally spoke to somebody who realised that after paying £1200 for a Telly, It might be nice if I actually had one. On the advice of your representative on the phone I ordered a 37wlt66 + 3year warranty to match the original price of the 32wlt58.

I was told to ring back in week if I had not heard anything. I rang back after a week(27/4/07) - because rather surprisingly - I had not heard anything. I was told the replacement had been marked for order - but not actually ordered. I think your company was quite happy to just keep my money and not bother about supplying me with a replacement TV. The representative kindly got me a telly on order.

On the 30/04/07 my new telly arrived.
However, I just knew, from my experience of Freeman's outstanding communication skills and paramount customer service that 1 of two things were going to happen.

A ) I would recieve 2 tvs ( one for the 20/4/07 order, one for the 27/4/7 order.

or B). I would be sent a Bill for my replacement Telly.

Today I have been billed for £949 by your idiotic company.

Just to clarify.

I am not paying.

bye.

Then I got thinking - How much have i spent on the bloody phone

Hi,
I recently sent an email - with my concern of being charged for a REPLACEMENT Tv.
I have just rung Virgin media to find out exactly how much it has cost me in phone calls to organise for Freemans to replace my TV.
I have spent £6.59 chasing up your poor customer service.
Could you kindly reimburse that cost - as it wasn't my fault that
a)The Tv went faulty under warranty.
b)Nobody made contact with me - Once the TV had been collected by yourselves.
c)You sent me a £949 bill for a REPLACEMENT TV that I had already paid £960(after 20% discount) for.

Please make cheques payable to Mr J P Spark

Thanks

PAul

Sparky - I have the same Hiper case, any chance you could post the link to the water cooling stuff. The cpu fan is really loud

alhacool nexxos xp cpu block ( with locking screw shortened). rightangled fittings from thecoolingshop.com

had to cut holes in back of case to get tubing out. Also the right angled fittings are still slighlty to big for the case - you have to force it down to get the screws back in.

Only thing thats bugging me now is PSU fan.
