I have just driven back from Manchester

Was on the M60 - 70mph
At junction 5 joined the A5103 - 50mph
The A5103 then merged with M56 at junction 3

There was no national speed limit sign and no 50mph speed limit signs so what speed limit should I have followed once the road merged with the M56?

It does my head in when there are speed camera signs but no speed limit signs.

I think motorways are 70MPH unless stated! I think you could have safely assumed it was 70MPH.

should have done 30mph to be on the safe side LOL

joking m8, i would have thought 70mph

on tv the over day and i have read it some where that if there it no
speed limit signs then take it as a 30 mph.

but you no as well as me m roads are 70 mph. or lower if signs say lower.

I think that's kinda aimed at built up areas...where you're not quite sure if it's a 30 or a 40. Generally, if there's street lights, take it as a 30 unless there are signs saying otherwise!

LOL...if you did 30 on a motorway you'd get pulled over and beaten up...never mind a fine !
