hi its near christmas time again and im toying with the idea of ps3 or xbox as i get mixed opinions about these i really dont know i would like ps3 as i got ps2 but was told ps3 wont play ps2 games so can someone put me in right direction advise me wat is the best one

the 60gb version plays ps2 games but it is discontinued, i managed to blag one before they cut them off

there is 20gb,40gb and 80gb versions which dont support ps2 games, only have 2 usb ports and no memory card reader but they still play blu-ray films and games which is all that is really needed!

Cheers

can you go on internet with ps3 as long as u have a router cheers

Honestly....do NOT buy a PS3, you will regret it after a few weeks.

Grab yourself an Xbox360, moddify it and enjoy High Definition games for free, the 360 games are every bit as good looking as the PS3 and in a lot of cases actually a bit better, only die hard Sony fanboys would argue a case for the PS3.

It's a waste of money - unless ofcourse Blu-Ray is important to you, which it shouldn't be as providers are investing heavily in HD PPV broadband downloads, even Sony are jumping on the bandwagon.

PS3 = very shiny dust magnet.

does this mean you PS3 is for sale?

No, I use it as a media streamer for the kids.

The one truely great thing about the PS3 is the Blu-Ray output.

It's not important to me but I hold my hands up and say that from the few Blu-Ray discs that I've seen playing on it via my 50" HDTV, the pictures were absolutely amazing, I always thought that HD-WMV and x264 rips were immaculate but IMO nothing can compete to a real Blu-Ray disc, it's just a shame that the media is rather expensive. :(

so are the blu-ray players, thats why i wanna get the ps3, that way atleast ill be able to do other stuff on it rather than just watch movies on it.

Yer thats what I meant mate, you're getting a great Blu-Ray player which also happens to be a High Def games console, if I were in the market for a Blu-Ray player then there's really only 1 option for me.
