So,

I wonder
has anyone noticed
The cobra Ode device is nearly ready to be shipped
seems to be the device we are all waiting for
mostly solderless for older models, 4 newer models it is not clear.
this is not a key or something Jailbreak stuff
it is really some nifty piece of hardware that will let you play ISO and homebrew on ORIGINAL PS3 FIRMWARE (OFW) up to current version.

So fingers crossed ....
This is the site and check out the faq. I'm in no way related to Cobra-ode but i have 2 fat 60 gb ps3, one on rebug 3.41 and one on 4.1 ps3 firmware so you can imagine what i want :)

Some months ago I contacted a reseller by email to ask for shipping date(no date given yet), I thought he told me around 80-90€ (euros)

Also today news flash : (seems to be some 'war' going on between those 2)
- 3k3y drive key extraction on all PS3 models !

Cobra or 3k3y; I don't care but
I really hope it will be possible to have it the easy way and we can run this on OFW whatever version....

£80 looking at the resellers sites

teensy.co.uk have had a few in but they have all gone to them that pre-ordered , they are hoping to get some more next week though.

so any update on anybody receiving these. how good are they?

sold my cfw 60gb recently and may reinvest in one of these.

I have the 3k3y which is a good bit of kit , i have fitted a few cobra`s , i like the cobras better , just one thing bothers me though , the cobra relies on a software manager to run the iso`s , so not sure how safe that is for online play , the 3k3y you can use the remote to choose your game iso`s , so might be more stealthier.

i see david had a play with about everything, lol. I pre-ordered both Cobra & 3K3Y along with remote and slim drive ripper pcb. Got my tracking number this morning so hoping they'd turn up at my door next week. will post pictures as soon I unwrap everything but need to decide which one to install until I get a second ps3. Not sure the slim drive ripper pcb was a good choice though as there are way too many faulty fat ones which I could bought cheap to strip the drive from but can't find any cheap slim ones.

I found the 3k3y to be to tight of a fit where they recommend you to fit it , the PSU pushes it down to tight and leaves it sitting proud, i ended up cutting the plastic air duct above the heatsink out , then putting some kapton tape on the bottom of the PCB and covering any air leaks.

Which PS3 model did you install it in? I've got a superslim and contemplating to either get another super slim or just a slim model.

Sorry about that , thought i had said, it was the superslim mmonster.

Yes but there is talk that microsoft and sony could possibly see it if you use the isomenu feature , that`s why it`s advised to use the remote and load your games from that.
Do both of these allow online play the ps3 one and the xbox one with copy games? :)

My cobra ode is shipped and should arrive this week. I have a phat 60Gb, I will keep you informed and make a new thread about installation with pics , ups and downs and used tools, awright ?

You shouldn`t have any problems installing it , pretty straight forward , i like it better than the 3k3y.
just a quick note cobra ode has arrived but as i work during days, family kids etc ... , I wil do this this weekend. Promiss.
