So the usual people on here know I am to commence a PS3 downgrade with the E3 Flasher.

Question: DO I need the eSata station or similar product. There isnt a definitive answer out there, some are saying leave the HD out, when you boot the PS3 it comes to "error HD not found" that it is good enough.
Some say you can keep the HD connected as the E3 board draws power from the clip (???).

If you don't need the HD, at what point do you not need the E3 flasher connected anymore?

Anyone clear all this up....

cheers

The answer to your question is:

No you don't need an esata station when you can power your hard drive with your pc. Then connect an esata to sata cable.

The better answer is:

You don't need your Hard Drive connected to downgrade your ps3

esata station is for easy acessabilty and dual boot. Although not required

Perfect.

So once I get to the stage where I need to put the PS3 into FSM, just before that step I can power off PS3, remove E3 Flasher and connect HD again?

Yes that is correct. After you flash the patched dump back over. Once it is finished. The lights flashing alternatively means that the flash is finished, hold the power button and it will shut down your ps3 securly. Now remove the E3 mainboard and put the hard drive in. Now boot it up first to see if it boots, and if your requested to press the ps button you know that your flash was successful. Now again hold the power button and turn the ps3 off. Now you need to use your jailbreak dongle, and contiune with the next steps...

REMEBER TO CHECK YOUR DUMP IS VALID FIRST BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING BACK TO THE PS3. OTHERWISE IF IT'S NOT YOUR BRICK THE PS3. IF YOUR DDUMP DOESN'T LOOK VALID. CHECK YOUR CLIP.

How did you get on mate, no news good news?
