hi was thinking of getting a program to run ps2 games of my hardrive but cant really find any reviews on google can anyone tell me if they have had a good or bad experience with this thanks

Do you mean the one that uses an external hardrive caddy with the slim ps2?this one is crap and would'nt waste my money on it as a low % of games work and the ones that do have very choppy video scenes.
But if you have a fat ps2 with a network adapter this one works very good

I have a fat PS2 with a 80gig drive full of games. Only 1 or 2 don't work and they are NTSC ones. It's excellent just leaving 1 disc in the machine to load the game browser.

Anyone know where I can get a HD Advance cd from? Wanna get it for a friend's unmodded PS2 (original fat one) so that he can whack in a HDD to an ethernet controller and play ISO's/

Cheers :)

HD Advance 3.0 attached if you get it chipped.

You don't really need to chip a chubby PS2, The PS1 game exploit works fine to execute the HDLoader, HDAvanced ELF even USBAvanced. Also there is now a MC exploit that dosn't need the PS1 game FreeVast. It's just getting the files to the MC is the bugger if you don't already have a soft or hard modded PS2.

I'm sure I posted an early version of FreeVast here but didn't get much of a response, the PS2 being old hat nowadays! lol

I'm more than willing to help if I can, I still have a few PS2's for the Occasional GT4 Lan Party. (There's a thread here about that to!)

Thanks for replies guys.

I found a memory card exploit/loader/mod/loader (lol), so I am looking into that. The console isnt modded in any way and it seems taht the Mcexploit will do the trick so that he can connect an ethernet controller to the ps2, whack in a hard drive and play from the hard drive.

Will let you know how it goes when I give it a go with him after ordering the parts

Free McBoot

You must have some prior knowledge of the ps2! You need one of the following to get these on your memorycard:

A Playstation 2 with a Modchip, Swapmagic, HDLoader/HDAdvance v1/2/3.0(original discs), ActionReplay/Gameshark (original discs), or a priorly installed Exploit!

If you don't have above see if you can't find someone that does to create you your MC for you!

Cheers mate, I did find afew sites of my own but haven't read into a lot and maybe they are the same in terms of needing a modded ps2.

Well I have access to a modded ps2 if it is only needed to create the Mc (in other words just to create the MC on the modded one and use the non modded one afterwards to play as many games as needed)

Thanks again mate

Edit: Just about to download your file and notice I already have it, so we must be using the same site.

I'm sure a few of the guys over @ sksapps had a big input in this project, It's good that the PS2 is hanging on for grim death! lol. I had a play with this myself a while ago now n it worked well. As stated I have a few PS2's all Chubby with Network Adapter n HDD for the occasional LAN game, They boot basically to HDLoader using either the PS1 game exploit or Free McBoot from the Memory Card never had an issue.

Yes if you have access to a modded PS2 or 1 of the stated original Disks you can create a MC for use in the unmodded.

I have HD advance if anyone wants it for £15. Bought it by mistake. Was £20.

Or if not required I can do your memory cards for ya if you send it with a SAE with Free mcBoot
