COVID-19 vaccines have prevented 7.2 million infections and 27,000 deaths

Until they come up with anything better and ask us to use that instead of or as well as then I will carry on using that, it isn't a problem and it only takes a few minutes and with so many people who ignored all the rules when they were in place and all those who for some reason still refuse to think of others and have the vaccine, then the more sensible and responsible and unselfish amongst don't seem to find it that hard to do the right thing like some others do.

The pack I ordered online before my last one did come with a PCR test as well and a request to do the lateral flow test and the PCR test on the same day and to return that for testing via one of the special priority postboxes so that they can check the accuracy of the quick tests.
Not being funny but I'm vaccinated, with AZ, I done it the other way round. I had a pulmonary embolsym in my early 40s (at some previous point), and I blacked out at work and was carted out where they studied me and found the cause :(. Not Covid though :), I'll probably never find out.

Walking about in a state of hypoxia, doctor saw it straight away.

It made me think of infection vectors and detection methods. Especially if I'm daft enough to ignore some I've had.

I was looking up who won the Darwin awards in 2020 and it was this poor Japanese guy:

2020 Darwin Award winner

I think the 2021 winner will be shared by many people who haven't been vaccinated because they think that the virus is just a bit of flu.

I am testing myself twice a week with the lateral flow test, as the NHS asked us to do, also because I want to know if like you, I got infected even though I have had both my vaccinations and I am careful as it could still happen and I could be asymptomatic and I could pass the virus onto others. In addition if I go to visit my 94 year old Aunt in her care home I have to have a test shortly before I go to the home and show them that I am negative or get there 30 minutes early to have a test at the home before I can see her.

So let me get this right - you took two doses of an experimental gene therapy* which we were told would stop the spread of the virus.
But now you test yourself twice a week (or more) in case you have the virus.
How many times a week did you test yourself prior to having the jabs?
What can YOU now do that an un-jabbed person cannot?
Can you see any reason at all why some of us** are hesitant?

* (for which there are no long-term data)

** us - logical thinkers who do not blindly do everything our TV's tell us to do.

I had two well tested and proven to be safe vaccines, one early in February and a second one in late March, which I was advised to have by the NHS and my GP because of my age and my emphysema as if I caught the virus I would most likely end up in hospital and would probably take up an ICU bed that someone else who had foolishly not taken the vaccine when offered would need, and I may even die from the virus. I did not have any gene therapy, as I have shown you earlier in an article from the scientists who developed the vaccine from earlier well tested and proven to be safe and effective vaccines, that have just been tweaked a little to protect us from this new virus.

We were all asked to download the Zoe app to our phones and report how we were feeling daily, which as an unselfish, sensible and responsible adult I have been doing. Then when we were asked to test ourselves twice a week using the lateral flow tests if we had no symptoms of the virus in case we had caught the virus from some selfish person who had refused to have the vaccines when offered as even though it virtually eliminates the chance that anyone would be so ill that they needed to go to hospital to be treated if they had had both their vaccinations there is a small chance that they could still catch the virus and if they did then there was a very slight chance that they could pass it on to someone, and if that person had been so foolish as to not have the vaccine when offered then they could be seriously ill and may even die from it. I would not want the death on my hands of someone, even if they were so stupid as to not take a potentially life saving vaccine when offered.

I think that if I were so inclined and foolish to want to go abroad on a plane during a pandemic then I could do, whereas an unvaccinated person could not go to many of the places I could go to. Once they sort out the vaccine passports properly I would be able to go to the various venues that will only accept people who have been vaccinated whereas those who have not had it will not be able to. I can sleep easily at night knowing that I have not put other people's lives in danger through my stupidity and selfishness by refusing to have the vaccine whereas if I was not vaccinated I may worry that I may harm someone , but there again I don't suppose the selfish and irresponsible people worry about others at all.

I honestly cannot understand why anyone would refuse to take the vaccines during a pandemic or why they would not act sensibly and responsibly to keep themselves, their families and friends and even complete strangers safe. How many hundreds of millions of people have taken the vaccines with many times fewer people having any problems from them than all those people who have died from not having had the vaccines. It just does not make sense to refuse it when offered.

I really hope you're right, because if you're not, the consequences are too horrifying to contemplate.

I think personally for me I feel if I did catch the virus the vaccinations hopefully will help me fight of virus better than if I was not vaccinated.
Also if in some way the vaccine helps me not spread it as easily even better. But I will still be cautious when out and about for the safety of my self and others.
My daughter has two friends that have been hospitalised, both female and under thirty. One is pregnant and is having abnormal liver function which they have said is due to Covid and the other has Covid pneumonia. Both normally healthy young women….

The consequences of not having the vaccines are well known and as well as meaning that if you someone got the virus they could pass it on to others with a higher viral load than a vaccinated person would do, so that person may die from someone being selfish and they also include suffering from long covid or even dying, whereas having the vaccinations it is an almost 99.9% certainty that you will not die from the virus and there is a very good chance that you would not even need to go to hospital.

I do hope that your daughter's friends recover quickly with no long term effects and that her baby is born without any problems.

There is an almost 99.9% certainty the non-vaccinated won't die or need to go to hospital either.
I take it you've had to make up that nonsense about the non-jabbed passing on a more serious infection since you already know that the single and double-jabbed are just as likely to catch & pass on the lurgy as are those who aren't.

Of course someone who hasn't been vaccinated is more likely to catch the virus than a vaccinated person, so logic dictates that they are more likely to pass it on to someone, and as a vaccinated person would have a lower viral load than an unvaccinated one, that is why even if a vaccinated person catches the virus they are unlikely to get it bad enough to have to go to hospital, so they are less likely to pass it on than an unvaccinated person who has got covid maximum load in comparison to the unselfish, responsible and sensible people who were vaccinated.

I just cannot understand why you are so unable to understand such obvious and simple facts, yet you seem to completely believe in the ridiculous conspiracy theories that you love to spout about the vaccines being experimental, gene therapy, untested and such other idiotic and inaccurate statements.

Maybe you should have a word with this poor lad's family and tell him that he was one of only 0.1% of people who have died from the virus and with luck like that they should buy a lottery ticket as they will probably win that with the odds that their family enjoys.

Conspiracy theorists are no longer capable of rational thought.

I admire your tenacity, but you're wasting your time here.

It's not that I am unable to understand "obvious and simple facts", it's that I don't believe the garbage being spouted from Westminster. This government has an unenviable track record of getting things wrong and of blatantly lying to the public. (You might not know this because the mainstream media do not report on it very well - not conspiracy theory but fact). Anything announced by the official government sources should at worst be taken with a handful of salt, or preferably completely ignored.
Given the financial links (official and unofficial) of those in charge it's hardly surprising so many of their decisions fly in the face of common sense, but you can bet your bottom dollar there's something in it for them. Their decisions are biassed every time towards the goal of getting everyone in the country getting jabbed whether or not it benefits the recipient. Anyone who thinks the government is looking after our best interests really has to have a good, hard look at what is really happening. The lobbyists (what we'd call "corrupt" if they were in any other country) have huge influence and pay far more than the token wages ministers & MPs receive.
Thus I choose to get my information from more independent sources. These too need careful filtering of course as there is no shortage of "tin foil hat wearers" who take things too far but I listen to the ones who I think talk sense. Happily there is no shortage of those either.

Re. your ".1% young guy", if you had taken the time to read the article you will have seen that "A post mortem revealed that Jake had a rare strain of viral pneumonia and his death was also certified as Covid-related." So it's fair to say his passing, unfortunate though it is wasn't entirely down to covid. Would the jab have prevented his death? That is something we will never know. But the media love a story that tugs at the heartstrings. Had he been killed by a bus or falling off a cliff the papers wouldn't have been interested. But meantime the press is suspiciously quiet about the vax-induced injuries and deaths, don't they matter?

The pursuit of 0% is futile, it will never happen. Australia is trying, but despite their misguided efforts, there are still people dying in hospitals, most of whom have been jabbed BTW.

in case we had caught the virus from some selfish person who had refused to have the vaccines

i got to this bit, then totally lost all interest. What about if you catch the virus from someone who has been vaccinated? which going forward is far more likely to happen

You do realise that if he had been vaccinated and had not caught the covid virus then he would not have gone on to develop pneumonia don't you ? Pneumonia usually develops after you have had an initial pulmonary infection.

Obviously you will not believe this as I have just got it off the NHS website and not off a mate down the pub who said that his second cousin twice removed was at a freedom march the other day and someone told him that they had seen it on the internet by someone who had a PhD in media studies so he really was a doctor, so it was absolutely 100% correct.

NHS

Pneumonia is swelling (inflammation) of the tissue in one or both lungs. It's usually caused by a bacterial infection. It can also be caused by a virus, such as coronavirus (COVID-19).
