Hi all, am due to get a Technomate 97cm motorised dish and a Dm800hd, what would you recommend for reading material before the stuff arrives? I'm fairly conversant with the Dreambox stuff as I have a dm600 that was not used on satellite, cough cough. I just wondered if there was anything you chaps think I should read before I get me hands on the hardware, am in the NE of England with a wall that faces due South give or take a couple of degrees and have a good line of sight to the E, 1 tree to the W, many thanks

If your installing the dish and motor yourself then there are some really helpfull guides in the top of the European Satellite page.

Get a fixed Astra 19.2e dish you can pick up German, Spanish, French, Irish and Sky uk channels loads of HD 3pm games on Spanish channels and German it's well worth it £33 for the dish.

Did mine no problem...just make sure u have a spirit level and take your time as it will save you some grief later on.
loads of tutorials out there but im sure u will be fine :)

Is that a used dreambox 800hd? If you are buying new then may you should consider a more modern box. I have a dreambox 800hd but it must be 5 years old now.

about the same price but can recommend this one
SatLink WS-6906

They have dropped in price I have that meter and I paid nearly a £100 for it a good few years ago.

Good advice peeps, many thanks. I was looking at a sat meter along with the dish. As for a STB, I'm a bit of a Dreambox fan but am open to suggestions around the £150 mark

Would love to know how these work is their a tutorial on the satlink ws 6906

Theirs nothing decent mate, just thought some of the experts might of written a step by step. Unfortunately this is a huge learning curve as I’m a complete novice.

You would learn nothing from a step by step guide mate. Best way to learn is read, read and then read some more. The forum search button is really helpful too.
Members are more inclined to help newbies who demonstrate a willingness to learn rather than those wishing to be spoonfed.

It's all here mate, seek and ye shall find :)

If i can remember easy way tab across to nit search, toggle to the sat your want to peak your dish on. Select a transponder and move your dish around until the bars move for quality and signal and peak the dish the best you can.
