My processor is giving me strange authentication errors. I'm going to have to create a file from scratch in order to A) talk to the processor and B) download the working configuration. I hate it when I hit these "permission" errors. They're a real brick wall for me.

Homeworks is running on 64 bit Windows 10 / on Parallels 15 / on a Macbook Pro Retina 2012 OS Mojave 15.14.5

I don't think the permissions changes made in the Mac OS side carry over to Windows.
I found in a Windows file Prefrences exactly where to make similar changes. I couldn't make them stick.

Example. I have no idea where the owner S-1-1-0 came from (This is looking at files permissions in Windows 10)

Not into Mac but why you trying to use Mac and then carry it over to windows for ??

Couple reasons.
I own Macs
I’ve done it this way for at least 10 years without a problem
I think I gave you the wrong impression I’m not carrying anything over two windows I was simply looking at the Mac side as an investigative comparison.

How do I find out what version the existing system is? Looking at a system someone inherited with their house but very little information was left for them.

Did you get this working? The kit we have is labelled as P5 - 8 Series Lutron Homeworks Processor.

Assuming it's an Interactive series system, yes. Need the correct edition for the processor.
