Let's move before they raise the parking rate.
As per the title, I've started looking at home security, and quite fancy rigging up a couple of external IP cameras with movement detection and network storage.
All suggestions, as well as personal experience very much welcome.

Hikvision is an option of very good quality price, which I would recommend that the IP cameras are wired, in the long time you will save problems.

I'm a fan of ZModo on this, they offer both wired and wireless, and very simple to setup.

A few years ago I was asked to fit CCTV for a local business with the stipulation that they could be viewed remotely. I looked at several systems for them and found one on the 'famous auction site' that cleverly did away with the need for port forwarding. This was especially attractive as the bar's (ISP) modem/router doesn't allow for much 'tinkering'. And it worked reasonably well until the maker's server went down.
I wonder if there are there any systems nowadays that still do this.

I recommend the Reolink RLC-423 camera for outdoor use, it has great PTZ *and* optical zoom; works well at night and it looks the business (lets face it deterrent is 1/2 the aim here) - image quality is excellent with 4Mp and it supports PoE so you don't need to run extra power to the location

Sorry to jump on this thread but could I get some thoughts on this
