If anyone wants to install cccam manually they need to download one of the cccam packs - ftp the cccam.ppc file to var/bin then rename it to just cccam (remove the extension) - change the attributes to 755. Working out what file to put in var/bin was the part i couldnt find any info on!!

have you started the cam in blue menu? what version of commando are you using?. I would start a fresh with Al's image.

Ive used the birmingham image that was linked to earlier in the thread? Which is the best to use?'
 
Hello everyone. I too have a DB 500c and a lonely starview 4 does anyone know if I can resurrect any of these?
 
Thank you for that touch of humour Spud 1966, I'll check out what images etc I'll need and re-aquaint myself with 'ftp' just wiping the dust off myself as I compose this reply (sad old fart humour).
I'm just considering what to post that would be of use to anyone. Difficult when I've been out of this for so long.
Can you tell me what I'll need to 'flash' the old 500C? It's brand new (been in my locker for quite a few years now) still in the box and never been used!

Why not have a good read of the Dreambox section and see what you can learn yourself, you could then ask informed questions if you get stuck ;)
 
should still get commando working but you have to insert the cams manually as they dont support them if i mind correctly. Im sure Al's or Abu's posts will keep you right.
version 16 beta is the latest
