Liverpool Thread

You two still bickering lol
I don’t care which English team wins Champions League, will support whoever is in the final. Even Man Utd and I’m a Leeds fan. Not that we can be considered rivals any more, been away so long nobody knows we exist other than Sly who keep moving our games lol

I'm the same m8,if the team I support cannot win it then I will support the next Premiership team in it,

Same with the World Cup,cannot support Ireland so will cheer on England :)

There are lots of cars in Liverpool with flags on either side of the car, in anticipation of the champions league final.
My local recycling centre has a liverpool flag flying.
Many people are wearing Liverpool shirts.
My local athletics club have tweeted that they are arranging a marquee in the grounds which will screen the champions league final.
Many bars in Liverpool who normally show live matches for free are charging £10 to £20 to watch it live.
There is a big debate around holding the victory parade on the sunday immediately after the match because supporters at the game won't make it back for the parade.
Victory parade!!!!! - As far as this city is concerned Liverpool are already the champions league winners.

It's unbearable. Never in my life have I wanted a team not involved in a game with City to lose so much. I would happily celebrate United winning the FA Cup if this guaranteed Real Madrid winning the champions league final. The scousers need to be put back in their box. They are getting ahead of themselves...again!

This is what supporters do mate, they have utter belief in their team. I can't understand why you wish them to lose so badly, what possible difference would it make to your life?
I'm not a true supporter of any team nowadays but would always cheer for the British. Good luck Liverpool :D

This is what “these” particular supporters do. It washes down into the club and players, when they squirmed through a second leg that they should have easily managed, the players celebrated like they had already won the final.
Hopefully that mentality sticks with them when they face Real Madrid.

It's been six years since a British team got to the final and won, so I route for any British team to win when they get to the final. I suppose people don't remember the runner's up but getting to the final is not easy feat.
Real Madrid are a hard team to beat in the final, they have won the last six finals they have reached. You have to go back to 1981 when Liverpool beat them.

I suppose had that been Man Utd they would have bowed their heads in shame and admitted to all and sundry that they were undeserving? Sort of doubt that very much.

As a set of fans they would have been chuffed to bits. Looking towards the final in hope of bringing it home. Just like today.
Real celebrated reaching the final and were off the pitch professionally. Athletico celebrated beating Arsenal for their semi final and were off in good time, Liverpool were still doing laps 15 minutes after the final whistle [emoji23]
I’ve never seen a normal set of football fans poncing round like Champions before they’ve even played the final. I’ve never seen a normal set of players poncing round for 15 minutes doing laps of honour after winning a semi final. The sense of entitlement is embarrassing... yet it’s normal for Liverpool.

I think that you are exaggerating a little bit there aren't you.
The fans were locked in for 3 hours so the players entertained them.

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] pre-planned entertaining.
Ok

so I route for any British team to win when they get to the final.

Even from a team that has quoted numerous times, "We're not English, we're scouse"?????
They wouldn't support any other english team in the final and you know it.

I cant speak for any other Liverpool fans (and we are not all scouse) but I would support other English teams if they got to the final.
Not Man U or Chelsea, but other teams.

Why not Utd or Chelsea if you don't mind me asking?

United, because they knocked them right off their perch and became the behemoth of a club they fear and envy the most.
Chelsea because they kept buying/luring all their best players. You will find they wouldn’t support Mourinho in anything either because he keeps doing them over [emoji23]

I really don't get this bitterness some fans have towards other clubs o_O

With Liverpool it's very easy.
"Always the victims"...
"offended by everything ashamed of nothing"

Why should I support a club that killed their own fans? Or the same club that killed 39 others?

It was hardly the club that did that now, every club has a certain amount of lowlife supporters but they are not fans in the proper sense of the word.

Thanks for answering for all Liverpool supporters although your answers were incorrect.
Man U because the majority of their fans are so biased that they never give any other club or player any credit for anything that they achieve.
They also started, under Fergie the annoying tactic of fouling players in their own half (called the professional foul) to prevent teams from breakaway attacks. It was considered an insignificant foul that far from goal and therefore players were rarely booked for it but, it was the start of how players now cheat all the time in matches, which I find very distasteful.
Incidentally I did support them against Benfica in 1977
Also I have met Fergie and really liked the man. Hated his tactics
Chelsea because of Andy Jacobs off Talk Sport he is so biased that he should be a Man U fan
